Yes, rear living floor plans do make those types of spots more enjoyable or so it seems to me and DW

The good: super beautiful beach, amazing sand, crystal clear water.

The bad: oh. my. god. the sand; it's in everything. The sites are super tight. And no sewer. (If you had pets, fluffy has to stay at home- they're not allowed at beachfront sites).
We are going to Camp Gulf memorial day week. I won't do the beach front sites, yes they are pricey, but we got the closest upper park site to the beach, #533. It's only a short walk and for a cheaper price. We splurge for this park, because I have yet to find a park with what it offers. I like being "right on the beach" and not having to share it with everyone else. Plus we bring our dog with us.

Meaher State Park in Mobile, AL. Beautiful park. Great site backing to the water.

The only downside to the blacktop pad and picnic/patio area is nowhere to properly secure one of my awning pole tie downs.

Usually I will use the picnic table to tie the awing straps down when I use the hold down poles with a site like your. Later RJD

If you're headed west from there, be sure and wave as you pass through Grand Bay. (I work at the Walgreens.)

I debated it. The table is HUGE and heavy- figured it would be a good base to tie down to. So far so good.

I would. I'd even honk too. But, we head north before we head west. First Huntsville, then Mammoth Cave, and then we head west. I laugh because we planned a route out to get us to Salt Lake City by June but my family in completely incapable of keeping plans. Seriously, I have to be careful with making reservations to watch out for cancellation fees!

We bounced around Florida from mid-October until last week. Now we are headed north and then west. Don't plan on being back in NJ as of now. There's always unexpected and major plan breaking- because, you know... that's how we roll.

Hi,

In the desert, about five miles north of Quartzite. Been in the area since early January, and will be leaving for home in northern Illinois with the week.

Nice location, but no room to grill or relax.
Thanks for sharing your journeys!

San Clemente State Beach 2/20/17

Couple days with two of the little ones. Rode bikes alot... after the rain stopped.
Ocean was too rough to fish, and the trails were too muddy to hike, but overall an awesome trip! Nice to see everything green again from the rains.

First trip of the year. Friday was a spectacular day, Saturday very windy though. But it was still a sunny beautiful weekend.

So after the Celtic Family Jamboree we left our camper parked for the week at Sertoma Youth Ranch in Brooksville, FL so we could come back the following week for our first ever Broken String Fling when everyone gets together & works on the ranch to fix it up (it is free for youth groups to stay). Ended up with a bunch of cubscouts moving up to boyscouts tenting all around us while our party was in the back of the campground.

Broken String Fling provided all the food & adult beverages, music by local breakout artists all day Saturday & then we provided a bit of muscle to put together new picnic tables, paint them & the fences, pressure wash the place, rewire bathrooms, clean up the trail on Sunday .... it was a GREAT trade off

Catching up a bit...

Does an overnight stay at a service center count?

After the service center and a camper-less roadtrip to Orlando we went back to Meaher State Park.
