3rd time the charm

After canceling 2 camping trips because of a family emergency, we finally got away to the Tadpole Rally. First trip of the year at Little Farm on the River campground I. Rising Sun Indiana. Great Rally and a very good time. Sorry another sidewise picture..

We were at Bandit's Roost this weekend. It is a COE campground near Wilksboro NC. Site 75. Good shade and plenty of room.

Split the week between 2 campgrounds ... first was T.H. Stone Memorial St. Joseph Peninsula State Park in Port St Joe, FL site #35. Bad weather (have never had to pull in the awning so frequently), poor fishing (even with a charter guide) & biting bugs including those EVIL yellow flies ... but we were camping within earshot of the gulf coast waves .

Second stop was St. George Island State Park, FL site #50. Just a bit of rain, DH caught his first sea trout, morning bike rides on the beach picking up trash & shells at sunrise, within a reasonable drive of oysters for the grill & a decent brewery, still awful for bugs ... but we were still camping within earshot of the gulf coast waves on an almost totally abandoned pristine coastline.

We switched sites while at ABC in Branson so that we could be next to friends. We ended up in a quiet corner of the campground that we were very happy to feel a bit isolated from the craziness of the Fulltime Families rally.

This is site #109:

Still very snug but more level than our first site.

We couldn't park our truck at our site because it would have been on the grass. We did for a couple of days, but they came around and asked folks to move rugs and make sure they weren't parked on the grass. We ended up parking it at an empty site for the week (with permission). Worked out well- as we were able to setup our fire pit down there, too.

Platte River Campground near the Sleeping Bear Dunes in MI.
Site 123.

It was cold (50s), rainy, and VERY foggy. So we jumped on a site opening for the week after next to try it all over again. Had to buy a sleeping bear pass anyway, so it'll be cheaper this time around. =) It's only an hour from home, so that makes it nice.

We have stayed there quite often on our trips to or thru Michigan...this is one of our favorite campgrounds.
