You can have all mail forwarded through your local post office. You can monitor your request at usps.com and stop the forwarding before your return. I believe this is correct. Best to check with your local P.O..

I have my mail held for 3 months. The mail is held for 30 days at a time. Extension is done at usps.com with no issues. May be the same for forwarding.

Before I drove back with my daughter to come home for the summer, we stopped by the post office and filled out the mail forwarding form. There is an option on the form to stop by x date. Week later got a confirmation letter from USPS with the date verification.

Safe and happy travels.

mail while away

For trips 30 days or less I just hold the mail. USPS limits holds to 30 days. For trips longer than 30 day, I do a temporary forwarding to my wonderful daughter.

This is all free and can be done online or in person.

There are mail handling services that will open and email images of your mail but that seemed unnecessary to me and Iím too cheap to pay for it.

Happy Campin!

I know my mailman really good and the post office will hold my mail for thirty days. At the end of thirty days he leaves the mail in a outside room at my house and picks up another notice for thirty days. I only get junk in my mail. I pay all my bills on line. I could get a friend to come by and pick it all up and hold for me. All my bills are paid out of my bank account every month, automatically. I pay all my credit cards online. I went to Alaska last year and thatís how I did my mail. We were gone almost three months
