Wow fat fingers.
One addition we found very usefull. Foldable storage ottoman around $10ea. we got 2. Grandson playing hide & seek in photo.

I added a couple of shelves to each of those cabinets, to keep folded clothes organized. It also prevents an avalanche of clothing the first time you open the door after travel.

This is what my DW came up with. Not quite as nice as the solution that Npmathis came up with, but closer to my skill level.
She found those at Walmart. They are tight enough to the width of the cabinet that I needed to temporally remove the door latch part from the side of the opening. It leaves about 2 inches to the side for things that are flat. One for each side and the total spend was only about $20

it really doesn't matter, just which ever you prefer, if you have a choice, ... some of us don't have a choice, ... for some of us, the MB has to be up to bring in the slide-out, thus for us, it must be up when traveling, ... if traveling with it up, always engage the locks on each side, ... there have been reports of folks who forgot and it did come down, ...

Not sure it matters. We travel with it up. I figure it may add to the overall stability of unit if it'ss locked up. Non-Murphy bed units have cabinets from left to right thus aiding in keeping the unit square in transit. Not an engineer but that's how I justify my choice.

Our 21DS murphy stays up when traveling, but isn't it great to have the option.

Several of the floor plans won't let you travel with the bed down. The slide on my Mini Lite 2503S must be out to lower the bed.
Looks like the Mini Lite 2504S, 2507S and 2509S are similarly affected.

Yes, we just got back from a trip with an overnight stop each way and left the bed down, so we could pull into a rest area and sleep comfortably without putting out the slide.

Good idea.
We have the same storage area in our 1905 and we found on our maiden trip that it’s nearly useless. The poles aren’t set high enough to even hold a jacket. We ended up not using them at all except for storing the “vent pillow” we bought to cut off the light from the roof vent.
I like your idea about the cloth shelves.

My 21DS does not have a rear ladder, the dealer said if it doesn't have one it's because they don't want you on the roof. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?. I would like to have a ladder .

In 2014 when we bought our 21DS, it didn't come with a ladder either, but I remember that at that time, the Forest River website actually made mention of the roof structure and that it was strong enough that you could walk on it, ... units on the lot are ordered by the dealerships and equipped in such a way that they believe will sell the easiest/fastest and price is always one of the biggest considerations, ... thus somethings are left off to keep the price down, ...

I have been up on the roof of my 21DS to place my winter cover and it is plenty strong. RV manufacturers generally don't put ladders on units smaller than 27 feet. Don't ask me why.
I found something that is actually a better solution: Aluminum Telescopic Ladder
I got one for Christmas and it is wonderful! You can extend it and collapse it in a matter of seconds! And it folds down to a size that is easily stowable and comes with a bag to store it in.

I would suggest checking with Forest River on this. It is my understanding that the roof on the micro/mini’s is a “walk-on”. The ladder is an option but the roof construction should be the same whether or not the trailer includes the ladder.
