Have you tried baking it? I do it at home but haven't had the opportunity yet in a camper. 375 for 10-13 min depending on cut.

Same here, BUT, I discovered that there are two little clips on the outside of the stove vent that keeps the vent cover from flapping in the wind when going down the road. They are very small and could be missed if you weren't looking close. No one told me about that until I accidentally saw it mentioned on a forum. Makes sense. From now on I will turn those clips down when I am camped and back again when I leave.
