Restricted roads/tunnels

Hubby and I were having a discussion about traveling roads that are restricted because of the propane in the RV's . Is there an app avaliable that shows which roads you can take or tunnels that are restricted ? Maybe on the google app store ?

Thanks
Sandy

I don't think your going to find an US app. Hwys and roads will change with construction projects. You may want to check the states DOT web page, they should have any restrictions on their state web site.

I have never found a bridge or tunnel on the east coast that had a NO propane restriction. I've had to turn the propane off prior to entering the tunnel before. Usually the attendant ask, and I tell them it's off. (I know, I know)

Good luck and safe travels.

95 & 895 through Baltimore both have restrictions.

Yeah- I don't know of any apps. I think there are low clearances point files that can be loaded into your GPS. But- I don't know if it includes anything about propane restrictions.

I never knew there were restrictions of any sort with propane in the PA Turnpike tunnels. Have been through them more than once without turning anything off.

This is a E-mail I recevied from PenDot

Thank you for taking the time to contact the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission.

You are okay to go thru the tunnels, just make sure your tank is turned off.

Funny- I just emailed them after looking on their site with no details about it. Thanks for sharing it.

if in doubt, call the state police of the states you wish to travel thru. they will direct you to who you need to talk to. keep in mind that any fine given to you for disobeying a hazmat route signage will NOT be cheap.

There is an app called Trucker Path that has a lot of information. I don't know if it contains info about tunnel restrictions but it does have low clearances, truck stops, rest stops, fuel stations, travel centers, weigh stations, etc. You might check it out. I find the app very useful when traveling.
