Surge Protectors
Question to my fellow seasonal campers. I keep reading about surge protectors. Never had one in eight years of RV ownership.
Can someone please tell me in very simple terms what they do and why I need one? Thank you.

Oh yes our campground supplies the 100lb cylinders you must buy your propane there though but they come and get them to fill them. It is very reasonably priced too. I take my grill 20# cylinders there from home to fill because it's cheaper than to fill them here. They also supply us with fire wood for a very reasonable price and deliver it to our lot. I have two 100# cylinders because my neighbor moved out last fall and her cylinder was full so she gave it to me to use. Our campground is a family cg. with many activities throughout the year. It doesn't open until May 1st and closed October 31st if you want to deer hunt you can pay 11.00 a night to camp during deer season. Then they only have one bath house open for use because only the one has heat. We have full hookups but not all sites do but they do have honey wagon service for those that don't. Mostly the lakefront lots. We have wifi in our trailer we pay for through the local land line phone company. Also direct tv with our own dish.

Thanks Brokenaxle for sharing. Your site is definitely well equipped for chillin' and grillin'. Enjoy!
Thanks Wiscampsin on the Surge Protection Info. Gonna have to get one now that I've read that.

Where is your seasonal? We are from southwestern Wi, and have thought of trying a seasonal site within a couple of hours of opur home. Although we love the Mississippi River , we haven't found any that we would want in that area that meet our specs.

We are moving our new trailer we bought last fall to a seasonal spot this weekend. For the last few years we had a 17 foot Wildwood 17 XL Hybrid which we used to search around checking out campgrounds. Late last year we went to a campground that a business associate has a site at and has been bugging me to go check it out for some time. Both the DW and I fell in love with it right away and then pulled the trigger on a 2013 Wildwood 29BHBS. It has tons of storage space and I think it will serve us well in its new spot. I used it right up until late October last year before packing it up for winter.
Can't wait to get it set up and enjoy.

Outside Montello, about 1/2 hour north of Portage. Just curious, are you close to Wyalusing SP? Used to go there quite often back in the day. Love that place!

Very interesting! We have been looking in the Montello area for sites. It is just over an hour from Richland Center, which is where we are. We love Wyalusing, but it has only a couple of sites that our CC CKTS would get into, so we don't camp there. We spend a lot of our time at the Corp of Engineer parks at Potosi, and DeSoto.

Wiscampsin: Told the wife about your message. She reminded me that a business acquaintance told us to check out Rivers End campground by Montello. Do you know of that one?

Hey Wiscampsin...Didn't end up leaving....stuck around to get spring work done at the house....was rainy all week, so nothing lost.
I bet you're counting the days now?! Me too! Come on end of April, beginning of May!
Just for fun, was looking at campers. Love this one with the light, nearly blonde wood, the carving in cabinets, window treatments, light fixtures, and living room layout.

Bet the owners were excited though.
There's alot I like about that Wyoming. I like the blonde wood, makes the interior look light and bright. So many manufacturers are going too dark IMHO. Did you catch the arched closet doors and bench in the bedroom? I think the fridge door is pretty cool too. I could live without the shears on the windows and that television would have to be replaced.
You are getting some studying done for that final I hope.

Thanks. I do like the arched doors and bench. Where the two swivel chairs are, I was thinking keep one and put a desk in the cubby. I'm a student and DH almost always needs access to a computer for work related stuff.
P. s. I'm supposed to be studying, not shopping for campers. So distracted by spring fever. But no worries, really. Really.
p.s. I'm really not going to get it...Just dreaming. After the move, DH would kill me and it would just be too exhausting a process.
So glad you CG opened and you're there! Hurray! Finally! Enjoy!
