State/Provinces Map - What are your rules

We just changed RVs from a hybrid to a motorhome. I want to put a US State and Canadian Province map on the door and keep it up to date (and wanting to fully populate it).

So what rules do you follow for adding to the map?
  • Only states visisted with the current RV or any RV?
  • States visited by any means?
  • States visited and tent camping?
  • Drive through states or only those you camp in?
  • Other?

I have tent camped with Boy Scouts, traveled with a pop-up & hybrid and I am on the fence as to when to add states/provinces to the map.

We track states we slept in the MH at least one night. The beauty is you can make your own rules.

We stop and look at about anything we find interesting going through a state.I figure that makes it fair game to put that sticker in ours.
We almost never just drive through with out stopping several places.I think that counts.Your map, your rules.

DW and I are debating rules, Map is up on our new Forester 2451s. She says add them as we camp in them with new camper. I want to show where we camped in all our campers. 46 states so far!

You can see who won the debate in the pic. Click image for larger version

I completely get your question. I've wondered the same thing myself. I think for us, if we visit (drive through) a state, that state will go on our map.

I agree with Bubbles. The only rules are the ones you make for yourself. Happy travels.

For me, it's if I sleep in my TT in a state then I put it on my map. Unfortunately I don't have a way to mark states I revisit multiple times. ;-)))
