What Is Your Favorite Campsite Not Campground ?

The DW and I were talking the other night about our favorite campsite of all time and we came to the conclusion it was at Hope Valley Resort Campground Site #13 in Markleville, CA we stayed back in 2013 before were were Forest River owners.

On a side note there are campgrounds we like but only if we can get a certain site or choice of sites for example we like Anchor Down in TN it has great amenities but if I had to say in one of the interior sites I would pass on it so it so each time we try a new campground we try and scope out the most appealing site to us if we are thinking about going back again.

Hope Valley Resort is located 1&1/4 miles east of the Highways 88/89 Pickett’s Junction in beautiful Hope Valley, and just south of Lake Tahoe in Alpine County, California.

I have stayed in the site that Ejs4029 mentioned. It is a good one for sure. I like about four of them at that campground. If you have not been there recently you may not know that they our on a reservation basis now. We have been going there for probably 30 years and they were always non reserved. A family friend used to be the camp host there and down the road a short distance at Caples Lake. Good fishing near by at Upper and Lower Blue lakes as well as Red Lake. The River is not bad either.

Because our 323bhdsle has a rear window in the living room, my favorite campsite would be one where the rear window faces the lake. Our most favorite site has us overlooking the lake in a position where we can see the sunrise & the sunset reflect upon the water.

Nice. How far in advance to book that one? It looks like they only have about 5 spots on the water.

You got any ocean view sites a little further down towards/near Bandon? I've stayed in Bandon, not on the water, mostly parking lot, but great location for access to the beach.

Personally I would NEVER divulge my favorite campsites, as it's too competitive for getting them. Don't need to make it harder, than already is.
Just like asking me to post my favorite surf spot or fishing hole.[emoji32]

Reservation for ocean front sites is at least a year. We made this year’s reservation when we were there last year ( year of picture) and could not get ocean front this year. Already have ocean front site (same site as picture) for August 2020.

Blue Water Key, in Key West is amazing. We had a waterfront site for Christmas and it was nice. We went back a couple of years later and opted for an interior site so our friends could have the available waterfront spot.

This thing was unbelievable.

The entry/parking area for the camper:

Kitchen in the tiki hut, was only missing a cooktop (though it had a microwave and toaster oven):
