2nd Year Warranty Doc Update

I was just sent over the updated form from Forest River, so I went ahead and uploaded it to forums documents library.

If you don't know where that is, it can be found here: 2 Year Warranty Form

This form appears to have been updated on Nov 17th 2015. So it will have updated prices for the cost. And it does say 90 days to mail in your document and money.

There was an older version on there uploaded by another member, but this one appears to have updated pricing for newer models and lines.

Thank you for posting that. I downloaded it. Interesting it says 90 days, not 10 days. That makes more sense.

BTW, it's in Library > Brand Specific Information > Forest River 2nd Year Warranty

So far as I can tell, the change from 10 days to 90 days is the only difference from the prior form. Price of $150 is the same as I paid in April.

As racer4 said, thank you for posting.

No problem! Yeah, when I called around the 2nd or 4th of Dec the lady on the phone (Sheri) told me that you have 90 days to get the paperwork in. Then she never emailed it to me so I called again today and she sent it right over -- I guess she missed a number in my email.

But yeah. Good to know owners have 90 days. 10 days can be hard depending on the time of year. Especially if you live far away and you want to test the camper out the first.

I told a friend about this. He just took delivery of a new Cedar Creek. He said his cost was $250. And he signed up for it.

Not sure if the Cedar Creek is $250 and others are $150. Just reporting.

Or you can apply the $250 (you are spending on the warranty extension) to your Goshen registration and have your work done there free.

Yes, but it would take a pretty catastrophic fail like an axle or frame issue to do that and those will likely happen sooner than later. If, for example, the hot water heater failed. I would have Val take cold showers until we arrive at the rally. She suggests I take them even when we have hot water!

The 10 day "rule" hasn't been in effect for a long time. That was dropped when FR changed their accepted type of payment. I don't recall exactly what the payment was that was changed but I think it had something to do with credit cards if my memory serves me correctly!

Yeah, it appears that they changed their ways some time back. But I'm not sure if that would be the case since the lady told me I still had to mail a check. I told her that I would fax her the paperwork and do payment over the phone but she said they don't do that.

My suspicion is that FR relaxed the 10 day requirement because too many buyers were not made aware of the 2nd year option by the selling dealer. It's hard to get paperwork in within 10 days if you are not even aware there is a second year option. I found out through this forum and was 18 days from purchase. I called FR directly and they were very accommodating.
I later looked at the back cover of the FR brochure I had and it does mention availability of a 2nd year warranty.
I don't know why FR won't accept a credit or debit card. I sent in a bank check so I would have a receipt.
Several weeks after sending, FR signed and returned the form to me. The form itself is the extended warranty.

What a deal it is.................That's the first I seen the list of exactly what they are covering. You can not beat that for the price.
