They can look at them when I get there and if they think they are suspect then they can refuse to install them.

On the other hand, if I’m not familiar with their work, I’m more concerned about that than the quality of the tires I’m supplying.

I bought my Maxxis tires online because no local dealers carry them. I was not familiar with the tire shop that I had do the install but they were one of a few that have a parking lot large enough for me to get in and out of with a 32’ TT. I normally use another shop for my vehicles’ tires. So I was trusting their work without a reference. I had to tell the installer how to jack my trailer because he went right to the axles.
I guess you didn't get the point I was making about liability for the tires...

I think you were saying that the tire shop may be worried a customer will accuse them of being at fault for a tire failure when the failure was not a result of their installation work. (Liability) Correct?

Frankly, I just don't buy that excuse. If a customer is inclined to sue a tire shop after a tire failure, they'll do it regardless of who supplied the tire. They want someone else to pay for the damages regardless of the actual cause. I know some shops will add a premium to install customer-supplied parts. I get it but I don't really agree with it. I think it's just a way to get the same amount of profit as they would had they supplied the parts (and gotten profit from the parts sale).

Just to add for knowledge... I purchased and had my GYE tires mounted, balanced and metal stems installed for $120 per tire/wheel a little over a year ago from a GY dealer.

I had also inquired at three different places as to whether they would mount, balance and install new metal stems if I purchased the tires online... all three said no.

Where is everyone buying their Goodyear Endurance and Maxxis M8008 tires? My tires are ST225/75R15 LRE so please don’t suggest I switch to LT tires.
I ordered a set of GY Endurace yesterday from Simple Tire. With the 50 dollar coupon they offered it was the lower price I could find. 469 shipped to my door.

I got a price this morning from a local tire shop that does large trailers and they quoted me:

Maxxis M8008 CAD$167.40 + $30 installation (including all-steel valve stem)

Goodyear Endurance CAD$158.38 + $30 installation (including all-steel valve stem)

The exchange rate today is about CAD$1 = US$0.7504, so in US dollars that would be:

Maxxis M8008 US$148.13 installed, per tire
Goodyear Endurance US$141.36 installed, per tire

I just ordered 5 GY endurance E rated tires here in Indy . I get them put on next Tuesday morning. All 5 mounted and balanced with valve stems for 648.00 of course 1 is the spare tire.
And at the same time they are going to rotate the the Michelins on my truck

Thanks. Considering EVERYTHING is more expensive up here due to higher wages & overhead and import duties, I guess CAD$188.38 (approx. US$141.36) isn't too bad.

Went to Camping World for a slide topper and service so so bad I said I'm never going back there again. But before that I asked for a quote on Goodyear Endurance Tires for my TT. Price was on par with everyone else including the internet price with free delivery. But in the CW quote was a $99 special order addition. I ask why and they said they would have to order those and it was a $99 charge. I said I could get the with free delivery and sent to them. They said NO. What a ripoff. Didn't order them and never going back to CCW.

Not sure why that happened in your area, but I did not have any special order charge. Funny thing is ALL their tires are special order, so there’s nothing special about it. They don’t keep inventory. I got the best price in town and good service. Apparently not all camping worlds are equal

Got my Maxxis M8008's mounted on the trailer today at Discount Tire. Bought the ST225/75r15 Load rating D. For the 4 tires, mounted, balanced and tax, out the door was $573. And, they had a 10% mail in rebate so I will be getting another $57.30 back. Not bad for good quality tires.
