Buy it now or in 2015?

We are considering trading in our 2012 RPOD 177, for a 2015 Catalina 243 RBS. We need the extra living space. We have checked models both in person and online, and have found the best price is about $18,500 (MSRP is about $28K)

Shall we put a deposit on this unit to lock in the price? Or wait till March of 2015 hoping price will stay the same?

Thank you!

Based on our experiences, I would recommend that you buy or trade now before the end of 2014. The dealerships tend to lower the prices in order to make room for new 2016 recreational vehicles.

x2! Spring is high season for RV dealers, so the chances it would hold its price, are slim.

Sounds like you didn't follow the "Buy your second trailer FIRST" saying.

Something to consider...manufacturers will start titling new campers as 2016's about mid-March.

The 2016s will probably be more but IF there are any 2015s left they probably won't change much.......... but also depends on what inventory is left. Your trade will be another year older too.....

Dealers are trying to clear out inventory now to not carry it over to 2015...... Tax thing.....

Good Luck

Buy it now, have the dealer winterize it (if it isn't already done) and hold it on his lot until spring. They he de-winterizes it and does the PDI in the spring, insuring that anything that might have happened to it over the winter is discovered and corrected prior to delivery.

However, give him the trade-in now. It becomes his problem, not yours, for anything that might happen to your RPOD between now and March or April.

Good luck!
