Camping World

So I ordered some gear from camping world. I choose their normal shipping thinking I would see the gear here before our next camping trip.

Order the Gear From Camping World: 8/10
Our next camping Trip: 8/23 - 8/28
Estimated Delivery: 8/30

WTF? So after not receving anyting shipping related, I logged into my account to see shipping status, that's when I noticed the 8/30 delivery date. Looks like things are coming from California, but by what? Frigging camel?

I started doing some research on Camping World and many in the community do not really like them. I guess I am starting to see why.

Should I stay away from them in the future?

Thank you all,

Bad experience? Definitely wish I would have known about them before ordering...

It's not just Camping World haveing long wait times. I ordered a 50' 50amp cord from Etrailer and after talking to them learned that lots of RV related items are on delays do to the volume of RV sales and folks ordering stuff.

So you are blaming CW for not paying attention to the shipping date when you checked out? And yep, it was there, as it is on all my orders before I finalize the transaction.

I have had excellent results when buying from or having repairs done at CW. But like anywhere, you have to pay attention to the details.

I've bought a few things from Camping World, but, I've found that many items are less on Amazon, even with my Good Sam discount. If we see something we like in the Camping World flyers we get we always check the prices on Amazon.

It's not a shipping date issue. It shipped when it said it would. It's just the free shipping is a joke. Week and a half to go from California to MN? Did they ship via camel?

I usually get most online orders from anywhere to NM in 3 to 5 days with free shipping. So either you live in a remote spot or just had ONE bad shipping experience. But I suppose that is enough to trash all of CWs free shipping. Good job.

I live in Minneapolis. Not even close to being remote.

I am not attempting to trash them BTW, I just won't be choosing the free shipping option anymore. You seem a little heated over this post. Do you work at CW?

I would think you being in NW that should be a 2 day delivery at most.

I don't mind trashing them. Their RVs are over-priced, as is just about everything else they sell. Service sucks anywhere around the country. My friend had to order a new refrigerator through them, and they even charged him shipping! To be delivered and installed at their own store. So, yes, in a word, stay away from Camping World.

Since their CEO has decided to make politics part of his business practice, I will no longer do any business with CW.

My recommendation, Rather than squelching members who support this forum and want to talk about this RV related subject, open up a new forum area, let the members have their say.

But this will probably be deleted and I'll get a warning to not ever discuss political related subjects on this forum, regardless if they are RV related or not.

What good would that do other than create an argumentative discussion. When it comes to arguments and Internet anonymity that always ends badly. It also creates a discussion that has to be moderator constantly. I don’t think any of the moderators want to spend their time refereeing a discussion or an entire subforum. They already do that more than most forum users know about.

Arguments between forum members always…always…end up spilling into other subforums. It ain’t pretty. Allowing certain hot button topics (politics, religion, abortion, etc.) is a really bad idea.
