Camping world charged my card more than the emailed statement. Also I ordered 4 items on May 17 received only one item even when everything was in stock. I called them numerous times put on hold for 20-30 min waiting till I just hung up. Emailed them 4 times no response. What gives with camping world. I guess I will call my credit card company and stop payment till I receive the rest of my order.

I gave up on CW a while back. Prices are too high and it takes for ever to get anything from them. I just ordered two maxx air 2 vent covers from Amazon. They will be here Monday using Amazon prime guaranteed. Ebay is another good choice as long as it's not coming from a warehouse in China.

So, follow me here- it's a rambling story.

I started online:
  • Checkout page estimated shipping at $14.00
  • Checkout page offered a $5.00 discount
  • Checkout page had a box for me to enter my Good Sam membership # to check for discounts
    • My membership is expired, so I went and renewed that first on the Good Sam site

Back on the checkout page, I tried entering my (now renewed) membership # and it gave me a message that said, "Can't verify your membership. Try later or call us." (In hindsight, there are no actual discounts for the items I was ordering and this was all a glorious waste of time.)

I called them. He took my membership number, found me, and accepted all of the details of my order (items, coupon code, credit card and shipping). When he gave me the total, it was $2 more than the same online.

Turns out shipping was $2 more on the phone than online. I questioned it and he said, "I'm just reading from the screen." In a moment of brilliant cheapness, I told him to cancel the order and I'd simply place it online to save $2. So he did. And I did.

And then it only charged me $10 for shipping.

When it was all said and done, I was charged $6 less online than the same order placed on the phone due to cost differences in shipping.
I try to stay away from CW their prices are way out of line, they try to ripe you off on service. I buy mosmost everything from Amazon they are cheaper delivery is 3-4 days if you need it quicker I think they will overnight it.

Yep. They want to be like Wally World. Hire people that don't know or give a schitt and we will still make millions. If you order on line from Wal-Mart it is 200% better than CW though.

Similar experience. CW wouldn't match the online price on a table unless I bought a Good Sam membership, which would have made the table cost even more!
I like browsing their catalog and then ordering elsewhere when I can.. Makes me feel like I'm getting even 👍

I placed an order CW on 5/16. Called for the 4th time today. All previous calls my order was processing. Today it showed ready to ship., but without the items I needed most. They were on back order. Cancelled the order and just ordered everything from Amazon. Cost about $7 bucks more because I had to pay tax but everything is in stock and delivery promised by June 8th. This was the first time I've ever ordered from CW. Not impressed. Gene

I placed an order on 5-26-15.
My credit card was charged.
Got an email from CW showing the order was placed with an order # and a web reference #. NOTHING!
Their Chat Line says they have no agents available.
No answers to my emails that are going to someplace.
Have called numerous times to several different #'s I have for them and have been told my call is important and to please wait. Stayed on hold for over 30 minutes each time. NOTHING.
Even called my nearest CW dealership and they wouldn't even talk to me. All I got was a message to take a survey and then talked to "Peggy" and he (what I could understand) said call CW. I thought that was what I was doing! ARGH!!
SO I called Good Sam and they actually talked to me. He said that CW had a computer malfunction and a warehouse problem. He said the CW call center is across the hall from him and he could see that 1 of the operators had at least 8 calls waiting to talk to him. He said they (CW) have had big problems and that he is glad he isn't in that room. He said give it a few more days and they'll hopefully get things cleared up.

WHAT A MESS!

I have never had a problem before with CW and hopefully will be able to order from them again but this has put a black eye on their reputation.

Maybe they will take off the $10 shipping charge they put on me.

Ugh, I'm not happy to hear that, Timex. I've got a hard stop for the order to make it here...

Oh Happy Day!

It had to have been no more than 15 minutes from the time I did my earlier post that I opened the door to the garage and lo and behold, there was a big box of goodies sent to me by CW!

How's that?!

Everything I ordered was there. No door bell ring, no tracking info.

Remember the days when you sent off an order form in the mail and had to wait 6-8 weeks. And when you got the package, you didn't even remember ordering it!

Times have changed. 9 days from order to delivery. No tracking tells me they had problems but did their best to get the order to me.

I think I'll put CW on probation and see if they can right the ship.

The BOSS says no more ordering for a while.

I did get the last word in though.

And that was yes ma'am.

X2 on Camping World and Good Sams - I like the 10% discount you get at CGs but CW is a ripoff IMHO.

We are Amazon Prime members ($10/year, free 2 day shipping, free streaming movies, music, ebooks & unlimited photo archiving) So Prime is worth it and to boot, Amazon beats CW in pricing every time - and I have yet to not find the RV accessory I was looking for on Amazon

HSVBamaBob you said $10/year for Amazon Prime? Last time I renewed it was $99/year.

OOPS darn Keyboard dropped a zero!!

It is $100 - you are correct

It'd be an absolute steal at $10 a year
