I bought a Fantastic Fan w/reverse at CW for $130 (on special).

Amazon has the same thing now for $210.

Amazon.com: Fan-Tastic Vent 4000R Off White Vent with Reverse Switch: Automotive

$80 difference!

Go figure.

I've had CW match their online price as well. They told me that their policy is to price match their website so there is no issue there.

During one of their price matches, I briefly saw the price match list on their computer that they had to choose from in order to discount it and I saw Amazon listed there. Being that it is listed there, I would assume they price match them now.

Have not tried it out yet or asked but will next time I'm in.

I have found some really good deals on CW as well. I bought a 50Amp surge guard # 34750 which ranges from $300 to $400 online and got it for $199 on a 24 hour sale with free shipping from CW.

Every now and then CW does have some pretty good deals. Just don't expect someone to look something up for you.

We to are amazon prime junkies. Love it. However I had some grand dreams about a camping superstore. CW. Well I went there and it was a grand disappointment. I had wanted to go for years but it is out of the way and I never made it. We were camping over Memorial Day and I stopped at the one in Kingston NY on the way home,( actually out of the way). We first and last impressions are that place stinks. Prices way to high. Mostly junk in stock. I wanted some camco rhino flex stuff and all the had in that department was a bunch of the super cheap hose clamp type sewer line. At higher prices than the rhino flex. And the story goes on. Place filthy. No parking. Rude associates. High prices. Unless you don't have a computer, why would anyone buy their stuff here.

Last year was my newbie year in RV TT. So what do I know? Nothing! I live very near the Kingston NY CW Store. My new to me TT is an 04. Great shape but stripped of any and all goodies, not even a sewer hose. Well I roll into the CW store and stroll every aisle with a big smile and a fat wallet and LOAD the shopping cart. $500. Included mattress topper etc etc. I make. Appointment to have two brake controllers installed one in my 2013 Chev (pre wired) and my hunting vehicle Ram 1500. I bring Chev back a week later for the $39 install and while waiting (had appointment) 6 hrs for install ? Pre wired? I shopped some more and killed another $400. Browsing with my shopping cart.
Now I get home still smiling, review the bill for brake control install and see I was charged additional almost $60 for wire and wire loom?? The loom is the spiral plastic sleeve wires are routed in. The New truck is pre wired! I peek under dash....and the hood and there was no new wire or loom. Next day I'm on "schedule"to return with the Ram 1500 for the other brake control install.
I've already decided they will not see this truck or me again! I question the "wire and wire loom for $60 additional (keep in mind I purchased all brake controllers and needed accessories here too) the manager explained "oh the computer puts that in automatically ". The manager and his assistant made me cool my heels for forty five minutes while they reviewed my issue and to figure out how to remove the "charge from the computer " and they were "too busy" right now to deal with a credit. I Got my $60 credit and they will never see me again. I have since discovered Amazon has RV stuff. Who knew?
Thanks for listening, I've been wanting to vent this for a year now. Phew!!

I may be wrong here and please do correct me if I am. CW stores/sales/repair are virtually an RV dealership with a CW franchise. Similar to an auto dealership. There have been some auto dealerships I have written off but I still buy the products from another dealership. If you find a good dealership and have not been heartbroken, count yourself lucky. I don't have a CW near me and I don't use them for repair. Knock knock, I have been back to my selling dealer only once since purchase. Yeah, you can find the same products/brands at different vendors and a lot of times they will be cheaper. But for me, CW is an RVers toy store. I find what I'm looking for there and then compare prices elsewhere. Sometimes, I find it better at Amazon , Dyers, etc., but I'm not going to throw CW under the bus. They have had computer problems lately but I feel like they will get things fixed and will be even better.

Just my opinion, YRMV.

I don't mind buying from camping world but only if I can pick up. The shipping to Canada will kill any deal with them now.

Not to hijack thread, but on I-5 in Willsonville, Oregon, they are now selling pontoon boats! I bet those are priced right!

Amazon prices are not constant... they change almost daily... most items are from private sellers but housed and shipped from an amazon facility... sometimes you purchase from amazon but often you don't... if it is not critical I often put items in my shopping cart and watch them for a few days or weeks... sometimes the price increases and sometimes it drops

But amazon always ships if they say they have it in stock and I have had several Sunday deliveries if that meets their 2-day Prime shipping...

So I got 3 of my 5 items. Yay, I think.

Actually, I'm happy; it's the 10' flat hoses that I couldn't find anywhere else. I can pickup the 25'ers elsewhere. I just need to call because I paid for them...

What I can't figure out is with all the negative experiences with CW, and I have had mine, how do they stay in business? I have yet to meet anyone who has bought an RV from CW and returned to buy another one.

Takes a long time before the masses figure it out. CW does a very good job at marketing. People new to RV's see all the spring fever ad's. Like anything else shop around. Wal-mart has better prices on basics.

Yep I can find a lot of items at Walmart for my camper and a lot cheaper than CW. I know one thing I'd never buy a camper from them. Later RJD

I had to replace 2 of my Optronics side maker lenses on my TT. Camping World wanted $9.95 apiece plus shipping for the entire fixture! After I picked my jaw off the floor, I found the identical Optronics lights for less than $2.00 on several other RV sites, with shipping also a lot less. For me the decision was a no brainer, go to the one with the lowest shipping.
