Thank you in advance.

As a retired insurance broker, I had this question asked by many travelers, especially full-timers. The current liability insurance you have on your rig and car will not cover personal liability not associated with your vehicles. If you still own a home, your personal liability on your homeowners policy will cover most personal liability that could occur while traveling. If your rig is your full-time home, then you will need a stand-alone personal liability policy. It is relatively inexpensive, and I recommended a minimum $500K for my clients and depending on their net worth an excess or umbrella policy to provide additional protection against civil suits and defense costs.

How about someone who uses a camper like 99% (ok, maybe 98.9% ) of us do...

The occasional weekend getaway and the typical two week vacation?

We have a $1M umbrella insurance policy. Am I correct, that I would not need anything additional?

Of course, that is just an opinion, but when that day comes that it is...

I'm gonna buy a boat!
That wont work, our marina required similar insurance.

We own two side by side RV lots in the UP of MI were we spend summers. It is a condominium type of RV park with each owner sitting on the board of directors. Officers of the board are elected by board members. There are 55 RV lots in the park and because I own two lots and I have two votes and I also pay two annual owners fees. I am very impressed with the protections for lot owners in place by the state of MI. The board of directors has liability insurance for the common areas but not your individual lots. Some owners have their own liability insurance on their lots. It has been stated that if, as described above above, someone was to get hurt on your lot that you would be liable.
