Canadian insurance

My insurance company just informed me that their original quote with $500 deductible was wrong and that any RV over $100k is automatically 5% deductible so it's $5000 now.
Can any Canucks confirm this or do I need to look for a new insurance company?
Thanks

Brian

Ah! Private insurance......
My Trailer is insured for 80, $500 deductible.

Mh may be different. Check with another provider?

Rules vary province to province, and provider to provider - so without knowing where you're based out of, I don't think anyone can really comment...

That said - when I got insurance for my trailer (way cheaper then your MH, for full disclosure), RBC was cheapest, because they have my house and auto already; Wayfarer was next... That's in Ontario.

Hard to say since I am in Toronto and you in Calgary but I would be phoning other insurance companies , what do you have to lose?

It never hurts to seek competitive quotes. I'm with Wayfarer and I believe they are "Aviva" insurance.

Thanks
I just checked with Wayfarer (my wife still has Aviva on her car) and my rate with Intact is a few bucks less than theirs with a $5000 deductible. But for a higher rate I can get a lower deductible. I guess I'll have to figure how much a year a lower deductible is worth to me.
