Chance to buy used genny

I have chance to buy 9 year old Honda 2000 genny which I need for dry camping no AC. Need advice from genny smarts types. $700 canadian no taxes. They say used 20 times for first two years and not since. Has been started a few times per year and say it
Runs well with no problems. Two and a half hour drive to see/buy the unit. Does this look good deal and what should I be looking for to check it out? Not very mechanical. Help appreciated. Thanks, tomcamper.

hmm ...

generators should be "exercised" every year just to "run them", unless stored inside a controlled environment. This is a rule of thumb ....
that being said ... it maybe a perfectly great unit .. but beware.
If you have no A/C perhaps a 1000 watt unit would be better for you ... much smaller .. easier to carry, and a bit quieter, ... and much cheeper secound hand most people buy up when they realize they need more power ..

just a thought ..
