The tire business was put on notice back in the summer that we may have another round of higher tariffs on tires imported from China (we had this happen before a few years ago). The wholesalers have been pushing this point pretty hard to stock up before the price increases. Well today, we're getting the news that the tariffs are going in effect and can be retroactive for 90 days to boot.
I remember reading that they were trying hard to get trailer and specialty tires exempted from the higher tariffs which can be 50%. I haven't heard if they are going to be included or not in these new tariffs. I will let you know when I found out, so you can prepare for higher prices when replacing your trailer/RV tires.
