Craigslist Finds

Had been looking for a nice electric heater for the bedroom. Came across this beauty last week for $60 bucks, just in time for our first trip of the season. Looks brand new and came in real handy this past weekend up in the mountains. Took the chill off at night and looks good too. Curious what kind of gems have others found on CL?

Nah, not really. I carried it from the truck to the camper by myself, maybe 60-70 lbs.

No pics of the ProPride 1000 lb hitch I bought. Brand new in the boxes $1800.
Old Town Guide 147 canoe. 5 years old, never in the water $350.

I got my airbags and wireless air compressor on CL, both for $600. The box was open, but they were never installed. The seller moved up to a F-350 instead.

I found a new-never used MRS Hubba tent with footprint last week for less that 1/2 of what I could find anywhere else.

Just bought an Undercover Hard Tonneau cover for a 2005 Silverado 6.5' bed for $70. No hardware and a 3/4" x 3/4" triangular chip by the drivers side corner, but I have all the hardware and I am going to cut it to fit around the 5th wheel pin box, so it will work just fine.

Nice find you all! I don't usually look on Craig's list. Used to go on Ebay all the time but shipping is crazy and find it's not as much fun as it used to be. I now check kijiji but you make me want to check Craigslist
Great finds

You gotta sort out the good from the bad. I don't even answer many of the replies if they look the list bit suspicious.....when you reply they immediately have your email address.

Then I sort out the good from the bad by asking a few "local" questions.....where are you located for example. I do research on the name on the email as well. I have sold some things to people I initially deemed suspicious.

On a deal that I responded to last week, I sent the email from my "disposable" address......some that reads like "trashbox......com". I didn't receive a reply, and followed up with my traditional email account. The lady later told me she was sorting through all of the scammers out there, and though my initial inquiry looked suspicious because of the user name.

I bought and then sold my old camper on Craigslist. I think I have sold every cell phone I have ever had on Craigslist after I upgrade. My biggest thing has always been to meet in a public/crowded place and deal in cash only. Never had any issues.

I found my Puma on CL last year. The seller was only 35 miles away and was highly motivated due to a pending divorce. The Rv was priced well, had fewer than 2500 miles on it and looked showroom new.

I just bought my 2006 Rhino HW for 5,200 on CL. It's in near new condition and a much needed upgrade from our 1994 Viking SP210. The Rhino is selling at dealers for 8,900 asking. Seller was only 30 miles from us. Everything went well as far as I can tell.

Gotta learn to play the game. CL is great! Sold the DW's car in 1 day and my old camper, snowblower, 2 ATV's, a camera and a bicycle with no problems at all.

yes there are some pin heads online, but they are easy to spot.

Good deals to be had on CL...

Actually have used CL recently: sold our pop up tent trailer (started getting calls 5
minutes after I posted it!).... Bought it off CL 2 years ago. Also found 1995 geo tracker with only 40000 miles ($3250) already prepared for towing, and (separately) a blue ox tow bar for $250. That outfitted us for the next chapter of adventures with our new Class C! Still watching for a good used auxillary braking system.

Good experience with CL. Sold our old pop-up on CL in February to someone who responded w/in 20 minutes of posting. By the time he picked it up the next morning, I had 6 other people say they were interested.

Then found a 2011 TT a few days later, and purchased it for several thousand dollars less than the lowest price we could find on a new one. It had only been used a couple of times after driving it down from RVW... still had the television and BBQ grill in the box. Sometimes you get lucky but CL seems to work.

Since my TV came equiped with a factory installed brake control, I think I might as well try to sell my old brake control unit on CL...
