First Time Trailer Purchase, EasyCare Warranty Research

We're signing papers on a 2013 Forest River Grey Wolf and the dealership is offering a 5 year warranty for $1000. We've read the fine print, understand the coverage, but would like input on warranty experiences.

I'm not particularly looking for thoughts or pros/cons of warranties. I'd like to hear real life examples - this is what broke, this is what I had to do to get it repaired, this is what it cost me out of pocket.

Anyone have any scenarioes, namely with EasyCare warranties?

Thanks so much for your help!

Are the axles and frame covered under that warranty?

No experIence with extended warranty, but i did have have a 2012 grey wolf 28bh for about 20 months, and the only issue i ever had was the cheapo DVD player/stereo. Replaced under one year warranty twice! Also had two tires replaced under warranty, but not sure they warranty tires anymore. I just bought a new fifth wheel and only added the extra year from Forest river at $150. But I'm kinda handy. Others always feel an extended warranty is worthwhile.
Either way, happy camping!

Axels and frame are not covered in the warranty. It seems to be strictly mechanical.

General rule: extended warranties are not worth getting. It is a crap shoot. Insurance companies ALWAYS pay out less then they take in. Better off saving the money.

You have stated that frame and axels are not covered. How about delamination? Seems that what is not covered, if delamination also is not covered, are the things that are very expensive to repair. I know that you don't want opinions on to get it or not, but be sure to get the second year coverage from Forest River for the $150.
Good Luck!

we just bought a New 5th Wheel and Opted for the extraa warranty. Cost was $2100 for the 5 years. This unit has 3 slides and the research I found was if a slide seal goes your to expect a $2800-$3200 out of pocket repair cost. Plus if an appliance fails its covered. I found these to be a pricey items to replace. I have always got the extended warranty of vehicles and NEVER used it. That in mind this is our first big toy purchase and I'm sure it might be a lesson learned but well will see.

Hope this helps. Congrats

We have a 2012 Grey Wolf 26BH, we had a 2 year warranty on ours. It was used once! An outdoor speaker died, we were camping at the CG that the dealership owns so they came down and fixed it right at the site. Otherwise there was a couple little things that I had seen on our pre-delivery inspection and had them fix them before we took it home.

I would say pass! This is our 3rd camper and we have never had them into the dealership for any issue with any of them, except for that darn speaker. My parents usually trade 5ers every 5 years or so, I have noticed that once the first bug or 2 of a new camper are worked out usually things are good to go for quite a few years.
