I am new to the forum so please forgive my ignorance. I notice that no one ever names the bad dealers. Is there a rule against it? It seems to me that there could be significant benefit to forum members if they knew which dealers are trustworthy and which are not. Secondly, it might cause some dealers to change their policies if they knew they could be "called out" on the forum.

OK, now I'm confused too. This warranty that everyone is referring to is cost only $150 or so for a second year coverage? I didn't get any paperwork on it either.

The only thing I was offered was a extended warranty in the pricepoint of $1200 or so.

Like other here I will be also checking on this with FR.

You didn't get any paperwork on it because the dealers intentionally omit it from your package. From what I gather, they are well aware of it and choose to deceive their customers in the hopes that they will purchase the overpriced extended warranty from them. Just download the form from this thread, fill it out, and send it in with a $150 check. Some of the best money I have ever spent. I think it's a bit like a rebate. Forest River hopes few people take advantage of it, and they bet on that. Hence the 10 day after purchase rule.

I did the exact same thing- no problems whatsoever. And I agree it was money well spent.

However also read all the rest of your paperwork. My fridge came with a couple of years; as did a few other things. I mention the fridge because it required I register to get the additional time. So I don't think FR doesn't want people to buy it. They probably just want to make sure everybody buys it right away instead of seeing if the unit is problematic.

Is anyone aware of an FR extended warranty available for motorized products?

Just received signed copy of warranty

I did not receive anything from RV Wholesalers about FACTORY WARRANTY when I picked up my 8285WS. But one of the post here on the Forest River Forum posted the download of the factory form warranty info. I copied the info, completed the warranty information along with a check for $150.00 mailed to Forest River. It was over a month after I had purchased the RV that I mailed the warranty in. I just received the signed form back for the second year from Forest Warranty Department last Friday (3/11/2011)

How long did it take after you mailed it to get the form back? I mailed mine on Friday, so I'm curious how long it may take.

How long?

From the time I mailed it off, was about nine days.

Man I'm bummed, my first year warranty ends at the end of this month. I'm researching Service agreement provides and stumbled into this thread. The dealer was kind enough to tell me that I could purchase their service contract within the first year for the same price.... but never mentioned the second year from Forest River. I'd gladly send the money to FR instead of the dealer... I'm going to try to call tomorrow, but I'm not holding my breath.
