I don't understand why FR doesn't offer the extended warranty on their class c motorhomes as well, since it is all the same components used for the build, on different frames ?

The 2nd year factory warranty is not available on any Motorhomes, not just Class C.
It's not available on any motorized units, just towables.

I don't know of any Motorhome manufacturer that offers more than a one year factory warranty.

I sent mine in Jan 5th, and still haven't heard back. I sent a money order from my bank so no idea if they received it or not....but I suspect 3 weeks is still a relatively short time.

As far as I am concerned, they took my money so they owe the extended year warranty.
The contract is the paperwork you filled out and sent to them. They just sign it and return it to you, be sure to keep it safe.

Sent in paperwork and check for the extended warranty about 3 weeks ago and got it signed and returned sometime while we were out on our 2 week trip. So <than 3 weeks turn around from FR.

Yes, it's not available on PT products.
This has been mentioned numerous times in this thread.
Also a list of exempted brands is on the official paperwork, with PT listed as one of them.

PT does offer a 2 year warranty on their Sanibel line only.
Dynamax may also have a 2 year warranty, from another post I read.

Again, the FR second year factory warranty is NOT available for the following brands:

Prime Time
Shasta
Coachmen
Dynamax
Viking

Thanks for clearing that up.

As a Prime Time fifth wheel RV owner, I feel that we are treated as second-class citizens under the Forest River umbrella. Initially, the dealer (Dixie RV) sold us our brand new Prime Time telling us that we had the same benefits of taking our RV to any Forest River authorized repair facility. However, we have found out there’s a slight caveat to this general thought process. Forest River dealers can refuse Prime Time RV owners service at their dealers who don’t sell Prime Time product. Quite frankly getting service has been somewhat of a hassle however it’s one of those situations where you live and you learn, just as is in the case with the 2 year extended warranty.

Just to let you know, we're currently looking at buying a PT trailer.

But I have to disagree that PT is a second class FR product.
The treatment you've received from FR dealers happens to all FR brands, not just Prime Time.

We bought our Rockwood Roo from a Midwest dealer and our 3 local Rockwood Roo dealers refused to do any warranty work because we didn't buy from them.

This happens to all brands of RVs, not just FR brands.
I've read the same thing happening to owners of Jayco/Winnebago/Keystone/KZ/Thor and so on.

And the majority of RV manufacturers only offer a one year factory warranty.

This RV dealer behavior has been around for years and is discussed constantly on all RV forums.

Wow, it just keeps getting better. We were offered the 3rd party warranty, but nothing was said about the FR one. We have many issues on the quality of work that was done with ours. This is our 2nd 5th Wheel.

I know there are many old folks on here like me that remember well the days of buying a Ford or other brand and having to move due to the job and find out that brand new Ford you bought on the other side of the US, the local Ford Dealer just sez sorry bout but you did not buy it here....but then most dealers, when you drove onto the public street your warranty expired soon as the front tires hit pavement.

Dealers are independent investors and businessmen. It really does not matter if they are selling cars or toasters. Warranty issues for most domestic car manufacturers became a priority to BOTH manufacturers and dealers when imports began offering long term warranties as STANDARD. This accelerated the goal of enhancing a better quality product in foreign and subsequently, domestic markets.
As the wheel of life turns, HONDA, was offering a better product back in the day. A Honda franchise was worth it's weight in gold
BUT, even those small UGLY units evolved quickly and were responsible for fast forwarding many innovations into American produced vehicles.

The rv industry is in an expansion mode with a lesser focus on quality and more on PRODUCTION. The focus shifts as buyers decide QUALITY (within a reasonable cost) becomes number 1 in the purchase decision. That day WILL come. " The BEST is yet to come".

Am I blowing smoke....35 years at senior level in auto/farm implement/super duty trucks/mobile home finance. Retired from 2 of the largest finance arms in the US.
My advice, when asked; buy what meets your need and USE it...these items ARE a depreciating asset. If you are not using it, SELL IT.

The RV industry as a whole is mired in a business model based upon how we USED to do business.

Only a few month ago I took my brand new 5th wheel into th largest dealer in the US of the brand I owned. But I had not bought it there. I took it in for warranty work a few weeks after I bought it.

FIRST question I was asked: "did you buy it here?"

No, bought it at a auth dealer in Ok City.

Then you are LAST in line, our clients come first, then those that pay for repairs come second and warranty work on a unit not purchased here is last in line.

It was minor work and I stated I would pay for it in order to get it done and back on the road. NOTE: I asked the mfg for support on this, asked for their involvement, their answer was: "go see your selling dealer then". They offered zero support.

This was the business model of old, pretty much pre1960's way of doing business.

Mobile rv repair

Every major area we have visited in the US has had mobile rv repair. If they are authorized by the mfgr, they bill direct at the warranty rate.

In event of no service contract; fix it and get your refund from FR.

It's not always possible or practical to bring your rv back to the selling dealer. I made a list of every non emergency repair and had ALL fixed at The Rally.
We never missed a days camping.

Even if you have a BAD ROOF, call FR; document it;
Tape it with Eternabond. Factory replaced mine.
Roof was torn by a recommended service company who replaced our main Dometic ac and dropped it on the rubber roof!

Aggravating? YES; HELL YES. But now my 2015 is exactly as it should HAVE BEEN when built.
Document each contact or attempt.

Previous posts have owners receiving direction to a warranty friendly dealer. Don't lose hope!!
Think; go; do. Army Signal Corps motto. 👌👏

I have only had some minor issues with my FR-CC, in fact so minor that it was not worth the effort to put in the dealer, just fixed it myself for a bit of time and a couple of dollars. So far its been a super rig...

When did you buy yours?
We bought ours a year ago and just found out about this warranty and now they say we are not eligible. I am beyond livid.
