I would APPRECIATE if you could follow thru on this letter by contacting them and ask: WHAT "Washington legislation"? Name, date, Congressional or regulatory (EPA, DoD etc).

Saying Washington legislation is meaningless unless there is a data point attached. Clearly if there is something, then they can quote law or reg, then maybe we can contact our Congress person and get it fixed or changed or ??

Thank your for your efforts.

I recently got my 1 year ext for $150...

It looks like this maybe what is killing the extended warranty sales:
http://dor.wa.gov/Docs/Pubs/SpecialN...Warranties.pdf

FR does not want not have to collect, account for and process this tax. This may apply to so many states they don't want to do the bookkeeping.

Submitted two weeks ago. Check now shows in my bank as having been cashed. Awaiting paperwork to return regarding it, though we're out of town so I suspect I'll see such next week. Purchased on June 10th

Hope you get lucky, sscot87. It wasn't what sold us on our Rockwood, so I'll live with one year, augmented with an aftermarket warranty.

Forest River Extended Warranty (New Owners Read!)

Ok so I'm so confused on this whole thing. I get a email saying as of this day we no longer covered so I call up forest river after I get my thank you letter. It sends me directly to a lady named Deb in warranty. I have her my vin # and She called today and I missed the call but left a voice mail. I also have the voicemail transcript thingy my phone does and this is what she said. Hope this makes you just as confused as I am.

Tim

Don't know why it double posted the transcript.

Ok as per phone call to Deb Rimsa warranty logistics, people who have purchased a new unit should send in all paperwork required for the warranty. She says there has been a lot of confusion between forest river employees, consumers and dealers on what is happening. She told me until production switches over to 2018 for all lines the warranty is supposed to be honored. When that is not sure but she says she was sorry and sent me the form to send in. Sounds like to me just send it in and see what happens. Wow what a mess!

mopwr4me2003, when did you purchase your unit?

I just purchased a '18 Wildwood X-Lite, I figured there wasn't any use trying for the extended warranty at this point but now I'm wondering if I should try...

I would try. I'm sending mine in regardless. I have been hesitant on doing it but after directly talking with Deb I'm sending it in. bought mine on June 13th I think it was. Middle of June anyways. You have 90 days from purchasing your unit to turn In Paperwork. Good luck

Your link to the document show the document dated 2005. I doubt that is the reason since this has been going on for 12 years since the document.

I used that one as an example since the OP is from Washington. A quick search shows more and more states adding the tax. As with a lot of specialty taxes it is possible that the states are now enforcing the tax more vigorously and FR does not want the hassle.
Unfortunately for us

Purchased 10JUN. Form mailed with payment 13JUN. Recently received it back, with the FR signature block signed and dated 26JUN, there's a check mark with initials beside my purchase date, numbers added top left, and stamped "PAID" top right.

Freedom Express

Is the Freedom Express line included in this extended warranty option?

Likewise, but I was a pre-june purchaser (5/18).

Not really orphans, since FR "adopted" Coachmen, along with Palomino, Dynamax, Shasta, Viking and PrimeTime.
