Just bought a 2018 Forest River Rockwood 8327SS.
Dealer tried to pressure me to buy the extended warranty for $3800!!! (minus $1000 "RV Special".
$2800 for 7 years.
Crazy, but then he starts saying "Well if the fridge goes it's $5000 cause might have to take the walls down to get it out... etc... bullshit.
Anyways, does anyone know if Forest River still offers this extra second year warranty? I looked on website with no luck.
I am in Canada too I should add.
Edit.....
Nevermind, I went back a few pages...

I think FR has discontinued the extended warranty. I bought my trailer in August and they were not offering it then. I got my extended warranty from Good Sam. Can’t remember the exact amount but it was no where near that and I am paying annually not all at once.

Because some states determined that a separate extended warranty is essentially insurance and could only be sold by insurance companies, Forest River discontinued the second-year warranty in June of last year.

That's the first explanation that makes any sense. Thanks!

Why is it I believe that! Bought a fire extinguisher the other day, guess that is a insurance policy too and those shoes I bought to protect my feet, insurance. Get the govt involved and they do more harm than good...

My guess is that it was costing them to much, I don't see how it is called insurance, when it is a warranty. Saying that just about all app. Come with a second year warranty already from the manufactor, they have no problem in any State's. I think it should be called a fit and trim warranty. That's where they are loosing money on it, not the replacement of components, but also most do not cover labor only the parts in the second year so forest river picked that up to. Hate to see that go, it was good protection for your investment, plus it gave you a piece of mind, but things do change. It would be interesting to find out what State's where saying this.

I purchased a 2016 Wildwood listed in my sig below with many extra options, and got the second year warranty. When it arrived at dealership, the OSB in dinette slide out roof was defective, so the dealer had to replace the roof before delivery. The 20 gal water heater element went bad after the first year- replaced under warranty.
A year and a half later, I noticed 9 nails in the main roof starting to push up against rubber membrane- and this trailer is stationary (it does not get towed around). I documented it and notified the dealer. They came out and verified the problem.
While starting the roof replacement last fall, I also advised dealer that Forest River did not install the double insulation we ordered in the floor and roof. Dealer confirmed this by taking one of the OSB sheets off the roof, and they notified Forest River of the production issue.
So I am getting a completely new main roof, properly insulated ceiling and floor. Dealer estimates the cost to be in excess of $14,000 for material and labor when it is all said and done. We found several other issues in the roof/ceiling while working on this, due to lousy construction on the production line. My cost- zilch. Just a lot of headaches for the $40,000+ cost on a travel trailer.
So, that couple hundred bucks for the extended warranty saved my tail. Sad to see it go. I appreciate though how well my dealer is handling these issues. I would by from them again in a heartbeat.

It would be nice to see FR provide a 2 year warranty, not the extra cost 1 year extension. Dynamax does it. I realize many of the appliances and accessories already have a 2 year but it would be great to see it on the coach.
My 99 Terry had a 2 year warranty. The only issues ever were a defective shower faucet and a loose hose clamp on the city water supply line, both which I fixed myself.

Yes would be nice to have all manufactures have a two year warranty. Was at the Atlanta RV how this past weekend and saw a couple units that had two year warranties. I also bought the 2nd year warranty from FR in 2015 but I never had to use it. Cost was not much so I don't feel to bad just had little extra protection just in case. Later RJD

Hell people were "Slow to NO" on paying the "150.00-250.00$" for the second year Ex-Warr! Now they complain it is NOT available! Members would come on here "FRF" all the time and say "We NEVER even knew about the 2nd Year Ex-Warr" can e still get it? It was like a "Secret Society"! Youroo!!

Don't give up on FR. They will soon have to meet the other manufacturers 2 year that they are getting the edge on to keep there market place. As far as State's causing the problem how are the other people getting around it? I'm sure they sell in every State also, just don't add up. Still like FR no matter what

Are they still printing them? Your probably right but most people don't read, they go see them in person, and the stealers never tell you that, I know they never told me and I never saw a brochure, found out 6 mos later on this forum and then FR still honored it 6 mos. Late, I just can't complain on anything FR does, it just to bad they stopped it. But I do predict that they will offer something to keep the edge.

I purchased my Hyper Lite 30HDS in April of 2017 I was not offered an extended warranty. I was given the sales pitch for the extended warranty. They also had an adrenaline package with hard steps and self closing screen door etc. I was not offered the complete package.

If the 2nd year is insurance, so is the first. When you let the government own the dictionary, things go south fast.
