They will usually have a label stuck on the inside of one of the kitchen cabinet doors inside with the VIN number. Also, look near the hitch on the front of camper, they stamp the VIN number into the top of the steel tongue.

I just did my 2nd year warranty and the form did ask for another number which I had no idea what it was. My 10 day limit was getting close so I just mailed it in with a $250. check and vin#. When FR got back to me they said they just needed the vin number. Hope this helps.

When we picked up the V-Lite on April 11th, there was a pre-filled out form in the Forest River pouch of owners manuals and junk, already in that pouch.....

Remember our dealer had never heard of a 2nd year Warranty??????
Guess the powers that be never crack that paperwork....
but the lot techs do....

We just added our name, a check for $150 and sent in the provided form that had all of our TT info......
Nice.

Found what they were looking for..the form I was sent from someone at FR. has a crs on the line.. when I look at the sticker with the vin and other info there is a # on that tag that starts with crs so I am using that one. Thanks to all and keep on camping.

Well from reading this tread, I've figured out I got the best deal around. I just purchased a 2016 HW296 and my dealer didn't try to sell me any overpriced warranty, instead THEY PAID the $150 for my FR extended warranty. I can say I truly picked the correct dealership now.

I will return to House of Camping in IL when/if I decide to purchase something new.

10 days, but try anyway as some have reported success in getting it way past that period.

Actually, YOU paid for it by buying the trailer but I agree it is evidence that the dealer is reputable.

See the PDF in post #124. It spells it out pretty clearly.

extended warranty

We purchased our flagstaff microlte 19fd, last week but we don't take delivery until the 19th. when does the 10 day period start?
at purchase or at delivery of the unit?
and thank you very much for the information, I was also offered a 1,700.00 dollar 5 year extended warranty and I declined it.

Michael.

I believe they are not adhering to the 10 day period.

So I ask my dealer about this and was told the information would be in the packet of paperwork on the camper. They didn't try to pressure me into any other type of warranty, but i have been through all my paperwork and I see nothing regarding the second year of warranty. I guess I should contact Forest River directly?

If you look at post #124 it is all covered there.

I just got an email from Rhonda Yoder at Forest River that says they are no longer limiting signing up for the warranty to 10 days. She says in the email that if it the unit was purchased over 3 months ago it would need approval from the General Manager. Just thought I would pass along the info I received.

I started this thread when we bought our Grey Wolf last year. This past weekend, we camped next to a couple who had just picked up their new Grey Wolf on the way to the campground from the same dealer we purchased from.

I went over to admire their new rig and when they told me they just got it from the same dealer I asked if they were told about the 2nd year extended warranty for $150? They said no, they were sold an aftermarket extended warranty at over $1K. Then I felt kind of bad mentioning the FR extended warranty.

I'm sure in some situations for some people an aftermarket warranty is a good option. I just think its a bit slimy when a dealer only tries to sell you an aftermarket warranty and don't tell you about the lower cost FR extension. Worse, if there was supposed to be information on the optional extension in the FR paperwork that came with our camper, like others have said, mine was "missing". Perhaps strategically removed by the dealer? The FR 2nd year option might be the right choice for some. All I'm saying is people should know what the options are so they can choose. Truthfully, I think that those who feel that a multi-year aftermarket warranty is right for them would still likely buy it rather than the 2nd year FR extension but I guess some dealers don't feel that way.

Never

Outside warranty is never better than factory. That's never!
