My dealer told me about the second year warranty and also had the form all filled out with all the info neatly typed in and said all I need to do is send in a check with in ten days and it would be covered . They never even mentioned and after market warranty.

Great dealership.
In my opinion they should all be that way.

I agree, at least for me.
But I don't want to be disrespectful to those who opt for aftermarket warranties knowing about the FR option. It's when someone buys one not knowing (because they aren't told) about the much cheaper (and shorter) factory option that chaps me! Hopefully, threads like this and others will inform folks so they can make the choice thats right for them.

Where do u go for warranty?
So let's say we get the 2nd year warranty on our new Flagstaff 627d tent trailer and then we need to fix something. Where do we take it? Our dealer? We are in Seattle area. Do we have to go to a FR factory, cause if so I am pretty sure they are far away.
Thx! I am still learning all this stuff!
Happy camper!

The second year warranty works the same as the first. Just take it to the dealer.

Just answered my own question.. Haha!
Found this info :
You are covered by the 1-year Manufacturer's Warranty regardless of where you buy. This warranty is good for any defects in materials and workmanship caused by Forest River. There are over 2400 Authorized Forest River Service Centers in the U.S. and Canada that perform warranty service on your new Forest River RV.
You can get your New Forest River RV serviced at an Authorized Forest River Service Center for both warranty and non-warranty work, regardless of what any competing dealer tells you!
If you can't find an Authorized Forest River Service Center, call us toll-free (U.S. 888-417-8299) or (Canada 513-863-7000) and one of our friendly customer service representatives will take your information and locate the nearest Authorized new Service Center for you.

Glad I found out about the 2nd year warranty on this forum. Dealer never even gave me the paper. And glad I sent in the money even way after the 10 days. My 2014 Silverback has been nothing but trouble. So far the problems are all Dometic things. Toilet, frig and now A/C. Most other things we have fixed our selves. Took over a year to get a new frig that never worked right from the 1st trip out. Wish there was a 3 year warranty cause I will probably need it. Either that or trade campers.

I have had my Aviator for 11 months. Wonder if I can still get in on the extended warranty? We have had one problem after another. And does anyone know if the mattress's are warrantied. Ours on both sides are what I call grooved out where we have slept. But we have only slept in the camper very few times. Been in the shop more than we have owned it.

Which extended warranty are you referring to? If it was the 1 year extension from FR, no you can not purchase now as it had to be done within 10 days after purchase. If your considering another warranty the dealer offered fit may still be available to you at larger cost. Later RJD

FR no longer limits the 2nd year warranty to 10 days after purchase. They have sold so many RV's they can't keep up with the 2nd year warranty customers. I got mine 3 months after I took delivery and many others have taken longer to get it. It takes 2-4 weeks to get the signed warranty back.

Your frige was covered anyway. You could not use your extended, as dometic covers it for two years. Supplemental coverage, does not cover items under original mfg warranty period. Just sayin'

FR warranty contact
Ok guys, and gals, (don't want to offend)
looking for a web link or current phone number to contact regarding the Forest River warranty information. Just bought new Salem Cruise Lite 262bhxl and another year of warranty is a smart thing. Anything you can do to help is appreciated.
thanks

Check post #1 and give them a call, they can do it over the phone with a credit card...

Extended Warranty-Cherokee
I contacted a Warranty representative for the Cherokee brand today and this was his piss poor response when I told him that I've had extensive issues and just learned about the extended warranty, and asked if they only offered it for 10 days. "Yes , a 10 day window on a new purchase, I can recommend to find a RV dealer that has an aftermarket extended warranty and see if you can one of those, thanks and have a great day!!"
Pretty pathetic.

We where not aware of the extended warranty when we purchased our TT on 12/31/14, this forum has been very helpful after seeing the phone number above, I just called (8-5-15) and spoke with Rhonda and she told me that they where not going by the 10 day period anymore and to just send it in but to do it as soon as possible. For the extra $150 we are covered for the second year, well worth the money. Thanks fellow FRF members.

I wanted to be sure that everyone understood that the FR 2nd year warranty is just an extended warranty. It doesn't cover bumper to bumper like the first year warranty does. While this is still a good deal, please be sure that you understand what you are buying. I was just made aware of the extent of the 2nd year warranty by my dealer

The original warranty is bumper to bumper, but has exclusions like any other warranty. The extended warranty (optional protection plan) "...extends the initial 12 month warranty against manufacturing defects..." and then lists the items which include suspension, slide out mechanisms, frame. The same exclusions in the original warranty apply to the extension. these include wear and tear, condensation, etc.
I don't know how you are going to do any better than that.

FR told me that the 2nd year factory warranty was bumper to bumper, just like the first year.
But that was in 2007, so things may have changed since then.

It has changed. I posted the PDF of the list back in April that I got from Rhonda.
See the PDF on this post.

The PDF has a revision date of 5/07/07. This is the change date you are referencing?
The cover note states the OPP covers the same items as the original warranty. The OPP is bumper to bumper as is the original warranty. Bumper to bumper simply means parts from one end to the other are covered, but this does not mean the warranty covers everything that can go wrong - everything has exclusions.
