The cover note states the OPP covers the same items as the original warranty. The OPP is bumper to bumper as is the original warranty. Bumper to bumper simply means parts from one end to the other are covered, but this does not mean the warranty covers everything that can go wrong - everything has exclusions.
The original warranty is limited. Page two of the PDF spells things out pretty clearly IMO. This PDF which I got directly from Rhonda applies to my 2016 Wildwood I just purchased. I cannot speak or elaborate for their revision date of 5/07/07 referenced. This is what she emailed me a couple of months ago before my RV went into production.

Perhaps the OP referenced a warranty in 2007 prior to the 5/07/07 date, but not sure. Nowhere in the email or PDF I received from Rhonda does it indicate bumper to bumper that I can see. If the OP can include a detail of the 2nd year warranty that he/she received at that time, we can compare the coverage. Until then, we have to go by the information they provide to us since that time.

Cheers.

I believe people are referring to the Forest River extended warranty, not some aftermarket warranty sold by most dealers. They may not offer a FR extended warranty on Freelanders. For the small amount of money it is worth it, of course if you never use it then some may consider it a waste of money, but believe me you will use it. That's the whole idea, never use it, but it's there if needed. Can't speak for gap insurance since I don't finance but if it is a large amount you may consider it. Just like an automobile the first couple years is a pretty big hit on depreciation. Take a look at 2014/13 models in RVtrader to see what used ones are going for to see what kind of hit may be in store if you want to sell or trade again.

FR extended warranty only applies to tt. It's a good buy if you buy the tt. Later RJD

Check on your own. Look under Forest River website that's how I found it, then called them and they emailed me information form.

The FR 2nd year Extended warranty does include TT and 5th wheels. Please do not rely on your dealer to give you the information. Most of them do not even know about this warranty. Contact FR directly and they will help you with the 2nd year extended warranty. it is more expensive for 5th wheels than TT. I have it on my 2015 Sierra 5th wheel.

It's not that they don't know about it, They want to sell you the high dollar one. If you did not get the form from dealer contact FR ASAP as the contract say must remit within 10 days from purchase however I believe that FR will give you a break seeing how the dealer did not inform you of the option. Later RJD

I just today mailed the $150.00 for the extended warranty for our 2016 Rockwood Windjammer 3029W. We purchased on July 25th and my wife just called them about it yesterday. Apparently, you are supposed to apply for the warranty within some certain number of days of purchase, but since our dealer hadn't told us about it and I only just learned about it here, the lady at Forest River gave us until this Friday to get the check and application in the mail. They are aware that people aren't being informed about the warranty and are very understanding and flexible to appease their customers. Forest River rocks!

I emailed FR and they sent me a form to fill out. It's dated 5/10/07 for the additional warranty and it's only $150 for my fifth wheel.

As I mentioned it is suppose to be mailed within 10 days from date of sale. Also I mentioned that FR must be giving folks a grace period due to the dealer not informing you of the offer.

Hopefully folks read full post to get info. Later RJD

The form is also the actual extended warranty in case you didn't realize it. FR will countersign at the lower left and return to you. The 5/10/07 date is the last time the warranty was revised. Have the same one for my 04/15 purchase.

For anyone thinking their dealer is not aware of the program, just look at the back cover of a FR brochure. I'm looking at the Flagstaff Super Lite...Shamrock brochure and it clearly states: Available second-year warranty.

My purchase was 4/2/15 and I sent in the form on 4/20/15 after calling FR to advise I had only learned from this forum. They were very nice about it.

Someone here posted about "just fill out form and send check, they won't turn away your money"....that's exactly what I did. 90 days after the fact. Didn't talk to anyone on the phone ,email or otherwise.
