Ever wonder why on that hot day when you really need the AC and the generator just wont start and hold your AC on line. One thing everyone forgets about, the derating of a generator in the heat. Please look not only at the running watts but also the ambient temp that the generator was tested at. You may be surprised to finds out in temps over 90 degrees you have lower the load on that generator, I have seen as much as 40%. Please read the real ratings. Your needs in warm parts of the country may leave you under powered and a wife over heated too.

I got my generator today. I didn't have a problem lifting it into the back of my truck. I'm no muscleman (6'2"/180 lbs) so for 2 folks lifting the "Handi" should be a breeze.

As long as we're posting warnings, don't forget that altitude will also degrade the performance of a generator, or any engine that runs on fuel, gas, diesel, or propane.

During our trip to Indy lasy weekend we used my Honda, but didn't need the AC (who would've thought of that), but did run the microwave a couple of times. Both of the gangs I was camping w/ were checking it out. One of them has a 3500W that I'm sure is Chinese & the other guys have the larger Honda 3000W genny. Both were impressed w/ its sound level.

Our neighbours across the "aisle" from us also had the large Honda 3000W gen. Other than when it had a load on it, you wouldn't know it was running.

Our "neighbour from hell" had 2 2000W Hondas in parallel. I didn't dare ask him about it or else we would've never gotten rid of him.

We have the perfect setup for you, we bought the Yamaha 3000, because it fits right in the space like a glove so we ended up putting it in the front end compartment ,it's mounted there and we have the same fver as you. It works our perfectly and know one really knows it's there. The honda 3000 is too big but the Yamaha works fine.

The Yamaha has the boost feature so it starts the air conditioner better too we think.
