Golf Cart in South Carolina

I live in North Carolina but frequent the beaches around Myrtle Beach. I understand golf carts are suppose to have a sticker from SCDMV to travel on the road. It seems I get a different answer from everyone I ask. I am trying to find out if a person living in NC can get a SC sticker to drive on the road. I'll have insurance. Just trying to figure out what to do. I am waiting on a response from SCDMV.
Any help Or ideas?

I can't answer your question but I'm pretty sure Ocean Lakes and possibly MB State Park are the only campgrounds that allow you to bring your own golf cart. The others want you to rent one of theirs. It has to be "street" legal and you must provide proof of insurance. If you call Ocean Lakes they may be able to provide answers to your questions. Good luck!

Go on SC DMW web site yes you can register it but you are not supposed to ride it on major roads sure as over a certain speed limit and 4 lanes............

 The Permit Registration must be carried when the golf cart is operated.
 To be operated during daylight hours only.
 Operator must have a valid driver’s license and must be at least sixteen years of age.
 The driver’s license must be in the operator’s possession.
 May be driven on a secondary highway or street for which the posted speed limit is thirty-five miles an hour or less, within 4 miles of
residential or additional address noted above.
 May cross a highway or street at an intersection where the highway has a posted speed limit of more than thirty-five miles an hour.
 Upon sale of the golf cart, immediately notify the Department of Motor Vehicles in writing giving the name and address of the new
owner, with date of sale.
 Remove the assigned permit decal from the golf cart upon sale.
