Good Sam best price?

I've been a Good Sam member off and on over several years. The times I
was paid up I came out ahead due to the discount at GS camp grounds.
We prefer National and state parks but sometimes they aren't a good option.

So... my Good Sam membership is going to run out last of August.
They keep sending me "membership dues notice" like it's gonna expire any day.
Just wondering - they have 3 years "best deal" at $69.

Anyone -recently- get a better offer than that??

I know Sirius radio will dicker with you if you call and threaten to cancel. I
tried that with GS a while back and they wouldn't budge.

I paid for a 3 year plan and it was more money.
I looked at it this way with one tow of your personal or family members car and it just paid for it and then some. Get family plan. It's free to have them come and unlock doors to retrieve keys left in a locked car or truck. Plus if any family member needs a tow it's covered. I felt better knowing my 3 kids wouldn't be tranded on the side of the road. And I have used this a couple of times.
Happy camping my friend.

I have CoachNet roadside assistance.

My question is just Good Sam camp ground discounts.
We don't even shop at Camping World....

The $69 was for 3 years of GS camp grounds.

Without a good crystal ball I don't know if we'll use it enough to get
a savings but we definitely did save more than the price the last couple
of years.

I think the 3 year price is a good deal and I don’t think you’ll find a better price for joining or renewing. I like using Flying J fuel stops so it makes sense for me to belong to the club if for no other reason than the fuel discount. Although there isn’t a Camping World close to me I have had to buy parts from them in our travels so the GS discount at Camping World was nice.

I also buy the print version of the Good Sam Travel Guide every other year so the member price of $6.95 is a good deal. There’s a lot of good info in the GS travel guide. The 10% campground discount is good but many of those same campgrounds also offer a 10% discount to AARP members who don’t belong to Good Sam so that’s pretty much a wash.

The only downside to paying for 3 yrs. is if, for some reason, you can't travel anymore due to illness or an accident. I pay yearly because it costs me nothing to join. See below.

Get the Good Sam Visa. I earn enough points to get my Roadside Assistance, Travel Assist and Good Sam memberships for free by redeeming points. I also cash in for about $100 worth of Camping World gift cards a year. All free since we pay off the balance every month.

If you go through the camping world site you can get the 3 for $69 and you gt a $25 camping world certificate. I think it is available in store also.

I think there was some confusion earlier. There is Good Sam's and then Good Sam's roadside assistance. 2 different things.

Smile Good Sam

The 3yr for $69 + $25 is the best deal they offer. We do have a large Camping World store nearby & use the discounts. Re campgrounds, we have much better luck with Passport America (50%) and the state & national parks (1/2 price for seniors).

Passport America

I would look into Passport America. 50% off of several campgrounds, some are Good Sam, Thousand Trails or Encore. $44 per year. Just sayin.

I don't know the different levels of GS's, but it seems like a good deal for the CC discount, and 5 cents a gallon off at both Pilot and Flying J if it covers those!

Well I have been a member for a lot of years and then they came up with a good deal on life time membership so I sat down and figured it out and yep I came out ahead by buying the lifetime. membership. Of course now that it is no longer part of the original GS and there high standards they had back then it's not that good a deal for new folks. At least I get the 6 cent a gal at the pumps. Later RJD

I was offered a lifetime membership a few years back for a great price and they credited several years that I was a member. It has paid for itself over and over and over. They probably won't do that now but who knows.. . But I joined the first time in the 1980s ..................

We use our Good Sam a lot for parks but I think I pay for the card with the 5 cent Flying J discounts and the campground guide. The 3 years for $69 + a $25 credit for a stay at a GS campground was how mine was done earlier this year. Thought that was a better deal than the $25 discount at CW which is overpriced and rarely used by me.

I'd also mention that my KOA membership is also used a lot and this year...in addition to the 10% discount and points towards future stays...they gave me the membership for FREE based on my prior year use. I thought that was teriffic and now I look there first for places to stay that have what I need and get good reviews.

I just dropped my Passport America because I've found that I like more amenities than most of their parks provide...It seems the only ones I like restrict use in season which is when I'm traveling. If you're more into camping than glamping though...I can see where it would be very worthwhile.
Just my 2 cents...good luck with your decision making!

The good part is I know in Vegas, you can get your propane discounted 20% or so Tuesday and Wednesday. BEtween the motor home and refills for outdoor cooking, definitely worth it to me.

We have been Good Sam members for a very long time. When they first came out with the lifetime membership we tried it and have had it ever since (of course :-). The roadside assistance program has been worth it alone, but, this year after over 50 years with our old insurance company, we had just had it with the costs (we insure the trailer and 3 vehicles) and started shopping around for better rates. We found some pretty good rates, but, GS insurance had a special deal that for a small extra fee insured your trailer for full replacement cost (first five years you get a new, same model, after that you get what you paid for the trailer) should it be considered a total loss. Not a bad deal (and GS was the only company offering that), but, the big thing was we saved over $2,000 a year on the insurance bill! I couldn't believe it was that much, but, it was. That is a lot of camping! Now, we haven't used it and hope not to have to, but, as a member we could get that great rate. If their insurance is as good as their road service, it will be worth it - we'll see. It was another reason we were glad we had the membership. The gas savings is nice and campground savings as well (and Camping World discounts), but, now I wish I had gone with the insurance a lot sooner. Just something else to consider. Good luck.

I have used the Pilot/Flying J diesel discount in the past and found that it is not worth it. Diesel is about 25 cents less at nearby stations as per gas buddy.

So nice to hear our Vets are getting a break on the life membership. It is well deserved.
As for Pilot/Flying J, around our area we have a lot of competing stations, with Costco coming in first most of the time (with another membership fee, of course). However, for a long time, the Pilot stations with the GS discount came in just below Costco. The distance figured in for us as well, especially if you have to travel enough miles worth of gas just to get to the lower priced station (it usually negates the savings). If you haven't tried GasBuddy, the app is (last time I checked) free and you can set "favorites" for your local stations or, when traveling, get prices for nearby stations and pick the best ones of the brands you like. Once you have the Good Sam life membership, you don't have to worry about the membership cost as a savings factor and just go for the best price. Just the campground savings and insurance savings more than paid for the life membership for us. Now it is just savings.
