Good Sam Insurance

Received my renewal on my trailer insurance.
Good Sam went up 25%.
I called and their only explanation was that Texas rates increased.
More so in metro areas, which i am not in. Most have really increased in Dallas and Houston!

Anybody get a recent renewal?

Not asking how much it costs but since you have Good Sams could you tell me what all it covers? I'm with Allstate and I know I'm paying much too much for my policy.

Trailer is valued at 27k. $500 deductible on both comp and collision.
Replacement value on both and $3000 of contents. Was $400 went to $500.
Live 100 miles east of Dallas, 20 miles outside of Tyler which has 100k population.
I am probably included in that rating territory.
Waiting on a quote from my auto carrier.
Will post that when i get it

Sorry, I didn't mean for you to list personal information. I'm trying to see what other options are out there for coverage than going with Allstate & AAA. This stuff is so confusing - everytime I think I understand I find out that I don't.

I have Allied through Nationwide. Don't live near a big city but, the 5ver is insured to 45K fixed agreed value, 1000 deductiables, includes roadside assistance $398 a year. I have my vehicles insured with them also.

Auto/RV/Homeowner polices with Allstate.
Trailer value $14k (starter unit)
$50 deductible on truck & RV
$5k coverage on personal contents
$48 a month = $288 every six month

It's my understanding that the homeowner policy can come into play while the TT is parked at home or at the storage place.

Dovetail,

Does Good Sam cover your RV completely? Could other policies come into play along with Good Sam? May I ask how you selected Good Sam? Was it because of services Good Sam provide? This is one company I was serious thinking about but an 25% increase scares me.

My renewal came in on all my vehicles plus the 5th wheel. Insurance actually dropped nearly 300 dollars for the year. I moved to The Hartford in 2013 after progressive tried to increase my RV policy by 30% and my auto policy by 45% using the same excuse.

My Good Sam RV and auto insurance is on the same policy and it went down $130 for the six month policy which begam on January 31st. I have a $500 deductable on both and full replacement cost. I don't consider the cost personal information, just don't have it with me right now. Gool Luck

For those of you who don't know, if you are adding an RV to an auto policy you must be careful regarding replacement cost. Good Sam allows for full replace cost for the first five years on RVs. They will replace your totaled RV with a new one. That may be important to those of you who finance your RVs. Many RVs added to auto policies use actual cash value which can have you owing more then they will give you on an totaled RV. Good Luck

We just bought a new TV and are going through all this insurance BS at the moment. IDK why you can't fine one insurance company that will insure everything and not try to screw you on at least one or two of them. It is so aggravating.

When you find decent rates for the auto's they are higher than groceries on the RV's or Boat's. The place that we are at right now won't allow more than 4 items on one policy. I have 2-RV's, 2-boat's, three vehicles and the house.

I had a 2010 Ram 3500 that I bought in 2012 that I traded in on a 2005 Corvette at the beginning of 2013. The Vette's insurance was way higher that the trucks. They told me that it was because of what it was. So I dealt with it.
Now I just recently traded that Vette for a 2013 Ram 3500 and the insurance is higher that the Vette. I just don't get it.

Go to a local Shelter Ins agent and tell them you will give them the whole book of business for a full circle discount. Tell them SF from LR Arkansas told you to contact them and ask them to call me to clarify. You won't beat the total price anywhere.
