Hey guys this is what I found out about Good Sams. If you get the platinum one that cost 159.99 for 15 months for new customers and 179.99 for old.They will tow you anywhere you want up to 100 miles that is both truck and trailer.That what I was told and that what im looking for.I contact AAA and I didn't get a response yet.So I will get it for a back up along with my AAA in time

Camper1999, you mentioned the ease of pulling into truck bays to refuel. I agree that would be nice. The pilots/flying J's in West central Indiana informed me that you have to have a special DOT card to use those pumps as the big trucks do. The fuel at the truck islands are always less per gallon than the diesel at the regular pumps. How does that work exactly?

Most Flying Js have 2 RV lanes out front near the regular car lanes. They have gas, diesel, water, and dump station ($5 with their card). Also nearby propane refilling. Pilot's don't (yet) have those lanes. I have seen two new ones with them, so maybe more are coming.

We haven't stopped in Indiana at the truck pumps, but from Pennsylvania down to Florida and Tennessee and Alabama- we haven't had issues using the truck pumps. Even the Flying J RV pumps can be tight at our size (crew cab/long bed and 42' of camper)- so when they're available, we always use the truck pumps.

THe memship paid for itself the one trip to camping world last summer in Wisconsin for us and we will be getting camping discounts in Tennessee this year. We also have CAA for the roadside so between the 2 we are covered pretty much anywhere. I highly recommend Good Sam.

the reason is the truck lanes are setup as tax exempt. that is the reaso the price is cheaper

Good SAMs is great. Used it twice with flat on TT and flat on truck. Now with the purchase of a 3170DS let them change the heavy tires.

We have both Good Sam and Passport America. PA will usually pay for itself on your first trip. I think we paid $43 per year and they discount it after that. You have to look at the stipulations for the camp site you'll be going to - they differ from site to site. But, generally, you'll get the first night free or a 50% discount.

Well, then I'm completely off the mark then. In Illinois I have been in the truck lanes at smaller truck stops and no issue. If they are tax exempt, that means I should have a card or be kicked out of the lanes? I ask this as that regular lanes at two stops are easy to get around w/o the TT, however will be nearly impossible coupled up. I do thank you for the info.
