If we had the room, would definitely keep at home. However, $50 a month for a secured storage space is reasonable to us.

We have a very large shop that houses the A-Frame toyhauler, truck camper, couple motorcycles, a few vehicles and other stuff. We are on acreage with no covenents for toys on the property.

Our city has a bylaw that allows you to store RV's on your yard from April to October. We have always obeyed that by law and put the RV in winter storage for $50/mth. It's a fenced compound with surveillance cameras, paved lot, so mice have not been a problem, and we are a given a swipe card that we can come and go as we like if we want to check up on the RV.

We store ours in a secured RV storage for $40/month on a 25' plot. Had a 45' plot for $68/month which Was storing the tv and RV together. We moved to another home and has plenty of parking so we down sized the RV space. The city district where we currently live doesn't allow you to park in your residence.

Overall, this is a perfect setup for us.
Sounds like you are set up pretty nice. What town in Iowa are you close to? I am in Carroll I wouldn't mind getting together with some fellow Frogs. I do some shooting myself. I enjoy my winters off hunting Coyotes.

We park it at the house. Next to the garage I have a fenced 1/4 acre that I put power, water and sewer in and it works out awesome!

My MH is in my yard. I can't bear the thought of having it somewhere I am not. Besides, every time I can't find something in the house I run out to the MH and there it is.

We got our house about 8 years ago and one of the things I was looking for was a corner lot because I wanted an RV when I retired. Found what I was looking for and spent the money and time to put in a detached garage with a concrete pad large enough for a small MH. If I wanted to take out the two trees in the back yard I could do a lot more but I think my Black squirrels would object.
