Ok. You can tell them that you will bring the loan docs with you when you come to pick it up. The only case where I can see where they would need the contract signed is if they were delivering the unit to you.

A business transaction is a business transaction. It doesnt matter whether its an RV or an automobile. You wouldnt sign a car loan before you got to the dealership.

I have only purchased one new RV myself.

Good luck in your purchase and please update us once you talk to the dealer.

Late to this party... BUT,
Another sneaky dealer in my opinion. That is total BS.

You wouldn't pay for your dinner before you ate it would you?

Most loan documents have you initial somewhere to show you have inspected the product and it is satisfactory.
I would be wary to sign anything without seeing it first.

I've bought many vehicles over the years and several campers of various designs. Not once did I have to sign anything prior to the time of delivery. Sure, signing all those documents takes a few minutes, and that ties up the finance manager while you're doing it, but that's the burden the dealer endures in order to make a living.

I'm with Herk. Sounds like a sneaky dealer.

I could be wrong though. I thought I was wrong once before but it turns out I was mistaken.

The second the dealer gets the cash, He is not your buddy any more .
Picked -up our unit this past summer and they tried to get us to assume owner ship prior to seeing the prepared camper. The Dw said hold on ..we want to do the walk thru first ... Thank goodness because 1/2 the things on the list we compiled with the deposit, were not done including new battery- broken radio -mounted spare tire (thrown under bed) and bathroom fan didnt work. They jumped thru hoops to make sure we were very happy before I forked over the cash.
Remember You are incharge
