Resale smeesale. If an unused toilet is such a big deal then pop a couple hundred for a new one and swap it out when its time to trade. It's your money or rather their money. I agree with the anti-dump posters as to the real reason why. Regarding the cleanout I put liquid water softener and clothing detergent into the tank in place of the tank tabs. I've never had a stuck sensor or clog.

Have friends in our RV Park that have owned 5 RV's ( 5th wheels never travelled ) in 6 years and the wife would not let her husband use the toilet at all. Just for her use only. Didn't want it dirty if company happened to drop in. He was also not allowed to shower in the RV for the same reason. Wouldn't happen on my shift.

LMAO, I love or 5er toilet it's just the right height. Shower works perfect also and for $70k you can bet we use it all the time. We dump it and back flush it and keep the thrown clean. LOL Yep its a dirty stinky job to dump and clean but least I know where it started from. Go up wind and drink beer till it's drained, wear gloves, wash your hands when your done. What's the big deal, it's your sh@$. LOL
What a thread, think I've heard it all now. Does a bear sh@$ in the woods, at least I use toilet paper. LOL

When I traded in my Salem, we had stopped after a Sunday afternoon drive at a dealership I did not think I would be buying from. They asked me to truthfully describe my camper (which was at home), and they made me an offer sight unseen. They said it was dependent on an inspection when I brought it in for trade, but when I did, they gave it a quick once over, declared me honest, and completed the deal at the previously agreed upon amounts.
Don't take a chance on a bowel lockup or worse because you don't think you should use the toilet. Keep it flushed and drop in the pills, and everything is cool. If you find there is a latent smell, you are doing something wrong.

Sounds like my DW. she has chosen the living and dining rooms in the house. IMHO the two most useless rooms there. In the TT all Is shared.
I keep a tent on board in case she want to go back to the days before my paycheck came into play...

We bought a 2010 model from the 2nd owner, who claimed the toilet had never been used. To clarify, the entire camper had not been used the last 2 seasons. However, the camper AND toilet are now in used condition! And we are happy Campers.

That is very funny! I cover The couch because I don't want the dog to ruin it and I cover the chairs when the grandkids are there to prevent major stains; but not use the toilet. No way. Sounds like someone doesn't want to fool with the black tank.

I tent camped for 8 years and then bought a popup. At campgrounds, some people always questioned me about cooking in the popup, saying I would ruing the resale value. I told I bought the popup so I would not have to stand outside in the rain cooking, I did not care about the resale value. Besides I love the smell of bacon in the morning. I've had the popup for 15 years and just move up to Flagstaff 82IKWS (drastically moved up). Still learning on the sewer dumps.

No issue dealing with dirty stuff, when necessary. 100s of thousands do it over and over, that's why there are so many comments/questions about black tank problems, right? I look down on no one because of how they use, or don't use, their equipment. Sorry you are galled, perhaps a shower would help.

it's funny how some people have an aversion to dealing with the black tank.
personally, i don't get it but i was a firefighter/EMT, so i dealt with a lot of unpleasant situations. couldn't have done it if i had that kind of attitude.
EMS can be very messy at times so you have to be able to push through any aversion you may have.
i don't see how someone can spend thousands of dollars on a RV and then force everyone to go use the campground bathroom, just so they don't have to deal with the black tank.
but lots of people have phobias so i'm not surprised.
