Newbie with ???'s on Fantastic fan & other extras...

Hiya! Our family just picked out our Salem 26Tbud and are getting it in a week. Just looking for some advice on additional things that are good to add now, in specific the Fantastic Fan and slide-out awning. Any other sage add-on advice? Been lurking in your midst for years as we shopped, and pretty darn excited to be a full-fledged member now!!

WELCOME and CONGRATS on the NEW rig!

We added Plexiglass panels to the top and bottom of the screen door... held in place with Velcro so it can be removed on a nice day.

Key holder rack , wall mounted coat/hat rack, heated mattress pad, Oxygenics hand-held shower wand, wall mounted soap and shampoo dispenser, cellular black out blinds!

THanks, dimurrrw and campnqueen! Will for sure check those out. Funny thing, we just almost sold a new soap/shampoo dispenser at our yard sale and I held them out. Will use those in there for sure! Good idea on the plexiglass, too...can't wait to pick her up on Sat! We're doing a dry run at a KOA a few miles from our house. Better late in the season than never!

Have the dealer install Max-Air vents over the existing vents on the roof. The Max-Air vents allow you to have your vents open in all weather, even rain, even while traveling down the highway.

They are not very expensive. Perhaps you can ask the dealer to throw them in with the purchase of the trailer. If not, pop for them anyway!

While dealer installed vent covers are "mandatory" in my opinion, they are easy to install and if you are handy and can get up on the roof you can do them yourself. I see many broken vents flopping on the roof from forgetting to close them before travel. N/A with a vent cover as you can leave them open for ventilation while traveling and rain will not get in.

Replace that Spice Rack! The OEM one is useless. Got this one at K-Mart added broom handle clips for flashlights and the picture hangers make great key hooks. I had to block plane the top and middle rack faces to clear the slide trim (it wobbles coming in and was too close for my comfort).

I had two Camco covers installed on out TT and they were 19.99 each.

A less delicate mod is the toilet. I highly recommend adding the hand spray wand to the sealed barb on the valve of the Thetford Hopper.

It is "Da Bomb" for adding the right amount of water to the bowl for #2 and getting "skid marks" off bowl without trouble.

http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...c-v-15261.html

I actually moved the hose to a tap directly off the feed line due to wanting to use the wand without opening the sewer valve. (to wash down the bowl and add water to it easily). The downside of using the existing barb is you have to flush the toilet to get water into the wand as it was designed. I also added valves to shut off the wand and toilet in case they started leaking.
