Customer Service Lacking

I have made two separate purchases from Tweety's. The first for smaller parts and a Progressive Industries surge protector. Service excellent.

Second purchase was bigger ordering a Demco hitch, Demco Glide Ride pin box, and Demco capture plate. Service not so great. Here is what happened:
Ordered all three via phone on 2/21/14 supposed to arrive at my RV dealer on 2/26/14. Items never showed so had to cancel hitch install. Followed up via phone and was told that the capture plate had to be ordered direct from Demco and who ever placed the order from Tweetys, ordered all three items direct from Demco rather than only the capture plate. Long story short its now 3/5/14 and still no delivery. Called again today and Tweetys contacted Demco for delivery status and came back on the line telling me still no delivery date. They suggested I sit back and wait, which for me was not workable, I need to get this in and get the hitch and pin box installed. I had to ask why they don't smply cancel the direct order from Demco and ship from their Whse. The capture place could still come from Demco direct. In the end that is what they will do but I have lost roughly 15 days and had to cancel some appointments to get things installed. I think they should have been able to resolve on their end rather than me having to convince them to make the change on the order like I did. Order is supposed to arrive in 2 days so we will see if this resolves things or more time will be lost. It did not have to go like this and that is why I am frustrated. No offer of any credit on the order or off of my next order. Customer service on this order was lacking.

I find a lot on Amazon cheaper than going to the RV stores.

I also use Amazon. Even if they do start charging tax I'm still going to use them because I can find anything I want and get it in two days. For example, I ordered my blue ox hitch from them and got it in two days with free shipping.

I shop around between Ebay, Walmart.com and Amazon.com. Generally Walmart and Amazon prices are very close or identical to each other. Amazon probably has a bigger selection. Walmart has the option of pickup at a local store for free shipping at any price of the item or for orders over $50 they ship to your door so it doesn't need to be just RV items but can be anything they sell to make the total. Amazon will provide free shipping on orders over $35 or as others have free shipping when they subscribe to "Prime". Ebay will usually have a higher price but sometimes you can find what you want at a great price. Camping World will have the out of the norm or unusual products in addition to the everyday stuff.

My wife prefers Amazon, but is always amazed by the amazing deals I find on ebay. I find that I can beat Amazon's price on 9 out of 10 items. Plus ebay has stuff from other countries that you wouldn't find on Amazon, or the price is 1/4 what Amazon't cheapest price is.

Hey, look at KY. No state income tax on the first $40k of retirement income and cost of living isnt bad either.

I use Amazon for a lot of things, but have stocked out new trailer from it recently. I am Prime and rarely buy if the item isn' t free shipping. Any problems that I have had with products has been resolved quickly and fairly usually online. When I have called Customer Servicce, they havr been polite, helpful, and spoke English as their first language. I shop at Camping World, but they are not close if I need to return something like the refrigerator fan sitting in the back seat of my truck. Already ordered another from Amazon and have it in two days.
