Passport America....worth it??

Just stumbled across a website........Passport America......offering 50% discounts for many private campgrounds for an annual dues cost of $44.00.

Never heard of it before.

Worth it?

Thanks.

Yes definitely worth it! We saved $80.00 in Campground sites our first year! It paid for our membership with some left over for sightseeing money! When you book a site you have to remember to ask for the Passport America discount, but it is usually a savings of 20-30 dollars.
They will send you a book with all the PA campgrounds listed, they also have an app.

Been around for years and there are thousands of posts about PA on every RV forum out there.

It's basically great for those who can use it for weekdays and only staying 2 or 3 days.

But not worth it if you only camp weekends and holidays.

I saved two to three times the cost of membership in one month on a cross country trip. I'm renewing when the time comes. Some of the campgrounds I stayed at were also Good Sam campgrounds but with PA I saved a lot more than the GS discount offered.

Thanks guys.

But not sure why the above is true.
??

What difference does it make which days you stay, if you get 50% off the rate and it costs $44.00??? I don't see anything that says the discount is only good on weekdays. Am I missing something?

Thanks.

Some campgrounds have blackout dates when PA is not accepted. Others only accept it on weekdays and not weekends. There's plenty of campgrounds that participate so if one has blackout dates others nearby may not.

Their campground book explains it all and shows blackout dates for each campground if any. Also, some only take cash - no credit cards but that will be listed in the book also.

Each campground pretty much sets it's own time when they accept PA discounts

A great buy, no question. That is if you actually travel. Paid itself many times over.

It will pay for itself the 1st / 2nd time you use it! Based on cost of C/G! We travel during "Non Peak Times" so we have never had issues! W/E are full price, unless the Owner Gives you a Deal! 50% OFF is Not hard to Figure! Youroo!!

As a working man, I didn't make back my money the year we tried. All of our local places had stiff restrictions. We saved $20. Won't do it again until we are retired.

each participating campground sets its own rules of how and when they will honor the discount,... some are very short, 1 or 2 days and not on weekends and some are seasonal, but others are more lenient, we got the discount for over two weeks at a campground two yrs. ago, ......well worth the price, you can buy multi-year membership and save money, .... last year we re-upped for five yrs., ......

We have just laid out all of our reservations for the summer and over 50% of our stays are with P/A and they have saved us a bundle over the coarse of 3 months of travel... Saved more then the 44.00 on the first reservation in Oregon. WORTH IT, YOU BETCHA
