Forest River MSRP: $35944.77

RV Wholesalers quote: $25,434.00 - About 70% of MSRP

Local RV dealer "final negotiated price" $26,756.00 - About 75% of MSRP

I bought local even though they were more expensive than RV Wholesalers because I wanted to support my local store and build up a relationship with the dealer. I have since regretted it and for what I would have saved, I would have still gotten the same crappy service after the sale. Oh well, live and learn.

None of these prices included "tax and tags" this is to compare "apples to apples"

Not the my best work by FAR, as I do much better with automobiles and trucks. To be fair, it was my first camper purchase and I was still learning the ropes.

Shoe, at $32,500 for MSRP you should buy that exact camper with NO changes for $26,000 at a MINIMUM. That is ONLY 20% off. 75% off would put that unit at $24,375 and should be easily in reach with some fortitude.
My local dealer is around $1200.00 cheaper than RV Wholesalers and he seems to be a good guy.

Dennis,

Maryland is not so far away that I would not rule out a purchase from your dealer. I am always interested in finding quality sources of stuff that I buy (and mantain). As much as I love my 2010 Flagstaff (and all the mods I have done), I am under no illusion that it is my last. A shameless plug for your dealer/salesman would not be "inappropriate" I think.

Just post it in the correct Forum. Good Dealers - Forest River Forums

Ditto, we are in the process of deciding between 2 different models of the Crusader. I can sit there as long as it takes and I can walk since we do have quotes from others dealerships. Thanks for the encouragement. I especially like the part about working up from my number instead of down from theirs. My husband was just talking about how the auto worlds invoices are so different from the RV's. They want to sell these things and that's our advantage. I bet it bugs them slightly that we have the power of the internet on our sides! Wish us luck!!

Are you asking for our local dealer info?

Interesting. Sounds like a good deal. I have the 2010 Sport 186, which is similar to yours but with no slideout. The dealer was advertising it for $13,800 based on $20,000 MSRP. I didn't have the heart to negotiate on that kind of deal. But none of the extras were thrown in, as with yours. Still, we liked the dealer, love the service department and would definitely start our search there the next time. He advertises similar deep discounts even on the much more expensive units.
