I bought a small house on an acre, about 1000sq ft. The only thing that I changed with the property was the name on the deed. When I bought, property taxes were 240 yr for the previous owners. They were on a senior feeze. When I took possesion, they increased to 1200 a year with nothing more than my signature
Thankfully, we don't tax yearly for registration f vehicles based on there worth. At least not yet anyway.

Folks-- please keep in mind our forum rules.
This post began by talking about taxes as related to RVs.

It has now veered off the road into other territory.
If you have other examples of RV taxes in other states not mentioned
go ahead and post them but stay away from just taxes in general please.

There are plenty of other forums out there where you can debate the issue.
Thanks!

Didn't intend for this to turn political...just was curious if other states had the type of Tax on RV's as MO. It seems as if I have my answer...Move to Texas seems to be the solution!

Close it down if you like. I have some snow shoveling to do.

Indiana has Excise tax on vehicles including RV,s based on value, Its paid every year when you get your tags. As the value decrease the tax decrease to a minimum of $25 I think. It pays to buy used.

Seems to have gotten back on point and as long as everyone understands it is about property tax on RVs and not "taxes in general" we should be fine.

Be safe shoveling out there. Take plenty of breaks and a hot drink (toddy) every so often.

I pay an annual motor registration fee of ~$60+ for my fifth wheel. No other taxes other than the 15% Harmonized Sales tax at time of purchase. My only other fees associated with the camper is insurance with an annual cost of ~$400. This is in Nova Scotia. If I had a motorized RV I have the option of partial registration of 3, 6, 9 or 12 months with a prorated fee. The motorized RV fee for 12 months is somewhere around $300+.

Be careful that this thread doesn't veer towards the topic of booze.

Mmmmmmmmead... Love it.

I'd offer to trade you a few bottles for some homemade Amorone Della Valpolicella but we would be back to stupid state taxes again.
