Progressive quote vs.

Purchased a new Rockwood Mini today and got a quote last night pending serial number. $374 which I thought was high. I called them back today with the serial # and they came back with $495. I was...whoa that's wrong. Went over each line item. Same. She said this is the rate and she cannot get it cheaper. She said so you wanna pay in full or monthly. I said neither. Bye. I called my insurance co that holds my cars and house.....$128 ever 6 mos same coverage as Progressive. Much better.

I've just gone thru the same thing.
No matter what they say- Progressive, Geico, Good Sam etc are all higher singly than if you bundle your RV/trailer with your car/home insurance.

I left Progressive after they wanted over $1000 to insure my Harley.
I am no longer paying for their their expensive "motaur" advertising budget.

Progressive was the cheapest for me. Bundling with my cars on Safeco was about $25 more. Geico, Foremost wouldn’t insure in Florida because my County is considered “ coastal” even though I live an hour from the beach.

It's a shame you can't price shop insurance like other items such as tires or batteries or a TV. Go to Amazon and check price vs WalMart or Ebay....
Insurance totally depends on WHERE you live. A buddy has the same auto/home insurance as me. His car insurance is half what I pay. He lives out in the boonies. I live in a heavily populated metro area.....

Married to a insurance agent who has 20+ different carriers that she can write. One thing my darling bride has taught me regarding insurance is to truly compare apple to apples. Comparing the limits (e.g. 100/300/100) is just one aspect of insurance.

She writes Progressive as they are one of the few carriers that do Actual Replacement Cost (ACR) not depreciated value (aka blue book), cover awnings, etc.

If you are getting a better rate elsewhere and the coverages are the same, that is awesome. Maybe for some ACR is not of value. Bundling is a big money saver as is having claims free, etc.

Well it is time to renew our policy with our RV. We got it with Progressive originally. It was $706 last year and this year $865 with no claims or accidents. Sunseeker bought brand new 2018 year. Since we are new to this not sure if that was high or this years is a lot higher.

We have used Allstate for home/auto/motorcycle with full coverage. Added my TT for $125.

Did anyone answer you on this? I don't see anything. I just got a quote from Good Sam through National General and am wondering how they are. I like that they lower your rate when your unit is in storage. Not reading good reviews on Google about them though.

In the auto world I have found Progressive to be just plain shady. My wife or I have been hit three times in the past 15 years by people with Progressive. In each case it was clearly the other guys fault. All incidents had police reports verifying that. In each case Progressive tried to dump 10% of the responsibility onto us. Each time it went to arbitration and came back in our favor.

Not only did Progressive tick me off they wasted hours of my time during work hours and added to their cost. They must be over charging or under paying to afford the non stop trendy add campaigns.

Rant over. In short it is probably better to get grown up insurance and bundle with your home, auto, life, etc.

You can compare auto insurance in Texas. You can buy different limits on coverage but all policies are the same. Just adding an RV to an auto policy does not work for everyone. Many want replacement cost and not ACV that some auto policies use. What you get thru Good Sam is a good RV policy. We have Progressive because it was the cheapest for an RV policy. Not the low prices listed above but about $1,700 per year. They say it is that much because of the cost to replace, MSRP was more then $114,000. Good Luck

$433 with Progressive for a 2016 MBS Sprinter with a declared value of $65k, with extra $0 on glass and road side assistance coverage. I've used the glass coverage once to get a rock chip fixed.
