Pro's and Con's on the Wildcats

First time buyers.... wondering what you like about the Wildcat and what you dislike about the Wildcat?

IMO, a huge *pro* is the fact that Wildcat Chris, a factory rep, frequents the forum and is very involved.

personally, we were considering the Wildcat line, because we felt that there's no better equipped 5th wheel made, for the price they sell at.
until the DW saw a front living room 5th wheel, which Wildcat doesn't make.

Thumbs up

fclanglois to the Forum from Southeastern Virginia.
This is the right place to find information.
Check out Wildcat - Forest River Forums
We have had 2 wildcats 2004 27rl and we now own a 2005 29rlbs.
Wildcats have more band for the buck. As with any RV there will be problems with a few. The Main point in purchasing an RV is the dealer you buy it from that will take care of you after you have purchased the RV. Wildcat reps do a find job of making thing right.

We are on our second Wildcat, loved them both. No big issues with either one.

many have heard of Open Range but since they aren't a Forest River brand, they aren't hardly talked about here.
i know from other general RV forums, like RV.net, that they are quite well liked. i was impressed with their build and quality. but they are heavy.
and they're way more expensive than the Wildcat line.

Open Ranges are pretty nice, but they do not have the good layout of FR products. We almost bought a WC but after comparing to a Columbus (at the same RV show, we opted for the Columbus. Reason for us was the outside kitchen in the WC was (is) not very well done (e.g. cheap stamped metal cook stove, no sink, refrig hard to get to - to name a few things we did not like, as compared to the Columbus. Plus side of things: the WC is a bunch lighter, has a kitchen accessable when in towing configuration, (Columbus 325 also has same layout (our 320 is not so tow friendly). Just things off the top of my head.

Open Ranges look mighty nice to me. There is one parked next to me in the storage lot. They are in process of being bought by Jayco, which I believe will be a good thing.

If I recall the Open Ranges that I looked at were missing 2 main features on our "must have" list (in the models that we were looking at, of course) - namely outdoor kitchens and u-shaped dinettes.

Thanks for the kind words!

Please let me know if I can assist in any way! We frequently hear both customers and dealers say Wildcat is "the most bang for the buck." I know there's plenty of competition out there for your RV dollars, so we're trying hard to stay ahead of the game. And if we aren't exciting you for some reason, I'm open to hearing your thoughts on how we can make things better!
