Roadside Assistance - which one ?

after reading of one fellow's blown tire and subsequent repair because of his roadside assistance policy, I did a search and read what's there - looked like there were good comments ref Good Sam's policies

I've decided to buy but having a hard time making up my mind as to which one of the 3 "levels" to get.. I'm sorta leaning towards the middle of the 3 :

We have the "middle" level with Good Sam. Had it in the past as part of our insurance policy and decided this was a little better coverage.

Just started with Good Sam's.Had CoachNet that had come with our FR fiver.Went to call and renew Coachnet,they were closed?Picked up the phone and went with Good Sam's.Coverages are about the same.

I just did the research and pulled the trigger on one. Based on price and coverage, I threw AAA out. I then was left with CoachNet and Good Sam... They are both about the same, but the icing on the cake was CoachNet gives a discount if you are a FROG member. Plus, they have on-call tech support if you need some DIY help. Coverage seemed about the same between the two, but the discount and the on-call tech support put CoachNet over the edge for me.

I have a roadside assistance included in my camper insurance policy. What's the difference and would I be better off changing?

Why did you throw out AAA? What was so different about price or coverage?

Also you say Coachnet has phone in DIY help. Good Sam has that also I believe.

I'm currently with AAA RV plus but I'm not married to them! If I find a better
deal I'll move. So far they all 3 look about the same.

Before you sign up to a roadside assistance program ask them how they will tow your trailer if you have a bearing gone. The only method is by using a low bed trailer. If they do not give you the correct answer do not go with this company. I have CAA (AAA) RV plus. Had a bearing go on a busy 4 lane highway with out shoulder. Tow truck driver replaced bearing on side of road. CAA not able to find a low bed trailer and my TT could not be towed. I would recommend CAA.

I have CAA Premimum RV and the only thing I would say is if you are Canadian and travel in the US get yourself a US $20.00 pay as you go phone as soon as you get stateside as a canadian cel phone will not dial through the 1-800 number we are given (I know that from firsthand experience this summer at the FROG rally in Goshen).

KyDan, AAA Mid Atlantic wanted $173 buckaroos for just coverage on two cars with about 100 miles free towing. The coverage for my RV would be above and beyond that. Good Sam offers unlimited miles towing to the nearest repair center with the appropriate equipment. They cover my 2 cars, motorcycle, and my Sunseeker for about $100, the middle coverage plan. They changed a tire out for me back in the Spring, posted elsewhere in the Forum. I'm not married to Good Sam either, but for the bucks and coverage I'll keep them for a while.

I have never had any coverage as far as AAA etc. because I thought I could repair anything that might happen. Several months ago the DW was going to make several trips to Florida so I thought I would go with AAA. I have their App on my Iphone. I had a blow out on my truck this past Sunday morning while pulling my travel trailer. I thought...I will change my tire beside the interstate then it hit me..duh..I have AAA. I hit the app, called the main contact point, told them my situation. In just a few minutes someone called me and told me a tire service in my vicinity had been notified. A few minutes later a fellow called me from the tire repair facility...he was there within 20 minutes. This happened on I 16 near Dublin, GA. Within one hour of my blow out I was back on the road....this paid for my yearly fees.

Great! We have CAA RV plus as well and have been thinking about changing to Good Sam's but after reading from your experience, I think we may just stay with CAA RV plus.

I have CoachNet because it came with a free one year subscription. I had read about emergency road service on another site. I will probably renew with CoachNet. It's one of those things that you have and hope you never have to use..I do have AAA emergency road service, because we had it before we bought our travel trailer and will be getting rid of that soon.
