Welcome to the forum!

We have a 2010 Rockwood 8280 WS...camped 29 nights in it so far this year. Really like it and haven't had any issues with it at all.

Dave

You should have minimal quality issues. In the FRF gallery I have pics of my 8280 SS (no wardrobe slide) which I prefer over the 8280WS. Lighter pin and I like the bathroom better. You can still get the 8280SS but it has to be ordered special.

The kitchen and spacious living areas are the same and you are going to love both.

Be advised you can't get into the 'fridge or the pantry with the slide in. That's important to some. We just plan ahead and pack lunch in a small cooler. Also, check to make sure none of the pantry or entertainment center doors have opened before extending the slide.

You're really going to like that trailer!

Cool Rockwood 8280

I think the 8280 will fit my needs the best. The light weight and the lay out seems nice. Someone told me today that rear kitchens bounce all the plates and stuff around is this true. I think that I can live with that any feed back. Not knowing to much about 5th wheels is it posible to slide the slide out and get to the kitchen if needed.

We've had two campers with the rear kitchen and haven't broke anything yet...just have to pack it properly. We usually put our extra pillows in the cupboards with the dinnerware and glasses to keep them from moving around.

We put the slide part way out to get to the frig if necessary...not a big deal.

I have not noticed any appreciable rearrangement of dishes and such in our rear kitchen. We keep the dishes in the overhead cabinet that is closest to the axle, the one that's over the sink. The stuff in the pantry and rear cabinets stay put pretty well using that anti-slip shelf liner stuff.

Now you can just squeeze into the kitchen with the slide in, but you can not get into the 'fridge or the pantry with the slide pulled in.

Also if you use the counter-top extension it makes the kitchen drawers hard to reach. We knew all about the slider/pantry conflict and the counter extension/drawer issues, and we bought it any way. Have absolutely no regrets.

Hello everyone,
I am new here, this is my first post
WE have never owned an RV. We want to be able to travel with our dogs (two toy poodles) We live in FL and both took an early retirement so time off is not a problem
My husband and I are looking at the 5th wheel Rockwood 8280. I have only seen it in pictures and am still trying to find one to look at in person.
The price seems very reasonable (considering we were looking at the Cedar Creek before this that was double in price)
We have a Ford F350 Diesel so the towing should not be a problem??
Any tips for a first timer?
I am looking at the dark wood cabinets / Saddle interior and def the LazyBoy leather chairs!
