We are Good Sam members and the membership has come in handy numerous times, locking keys in the car, lock issues with the camper etc. Membership is well worth the price not including discounts at campgrounds.

Finally, you can't buy propane through Amazon (yet). And the GS discount at CW is pretty good.
X2. Both hubby and I like to peruse the monthly flyer. As relatively new RVers there are still things we need and we keep finding things to add to the list.

The flyer was where we got the inspiration to buy a Camp Chef stove and griddle, but we ended up ordering from Walmart because they just happened to be having a sale that beat even Amazon.

We also have taken advantage of the 8 point annual inspection (12 point if we upgrade to Lifetime) and the discounted installation rates. $39 last year, $59 for 2014. In August our inspection was upgraded to a 22 point because the rig was in for a Jack antenna install.

Our GS membership is now good through 2017 ... maybe we should consider a Lifetime membership soon. @$299 (Military discount) it might be worth it just to not be asked again.

In Canada Costco is cheapest, Good Sam is little to no value north of the 49th.

May be true, but Costco is at least $55.00 a year and Good Sam is $20 if you buy 3 years at a time.

When you consider that plus the fuel and Park discounts, if you take advantage of it, it is a better deal.

Good Sam definitely worth it. My one week stay in Tennessee this July saved me more than annual membership cost.

Beside the fact, unless you live in a large metro area, you won't be near a Costco.

We are members and most importantly use GS for the extended warranty.
If you are considering an extended you need to look into theirs.
I'm not a sales man so I'm not gonna get into the details but it is what we did

Perhaps

Actually, Good Sam is a good deal (we are life members Their member services, RV insurance and other perks make the membership pay for itself. Also, getting their Flying J/Pilot Gas Credit card will save you 6 cents/gal at the pump!

RE: Costco. Here is the way we do it. We are Executive members ($110 a year). We also got the COSTCO AmEx Card which gives you 3% cash back on gas and 1% on just about anything else. (BTW, Sams club does the same with a MasterCard), so we have amembership there too.)

We use our cards and, of course, pay them off every month (that is the secret THEY don't want you doing )

Guess what? At the end of the year we not only have enough "rebate dollers" from both cards to pay for another year's membership, but we usually havd $75-$100 in addition cash back in our pocket!

YMMV of course
