Hi everyone! oldprof1 here. I currently am trying the Good Sam extended service plan on my 2004/5 Georgetown XLS. I had a tire problem (destroyed the sucker running over a bolt) took about 4 months to finally resolve. It was resolved in my favour however but now I have incurred a rotor (not covered) that was destroyed along with the pads (not covered). The culprit turned out to be the caliper (covered!). The repair shop on further investigation discovered that the other caliper has seized but has not caused as much damage as the other side. Good Sam insurance is allowing LESS than the repair shop cost on the new caliper. This does not seem right to me soooo. I am wondering if there is another company that covers mechanical, electrical and appliance repair that is similar to Good Sam and covers repairs up to their actual cost! By the way I live in Canada and when I applied for the insurance I was told no problem!! They didn't say however that they only send the repair cheque to an address in the US of A. They accepted my money in a hurry From Canada but don't want to address the cheques to here. Anyone know of a better insurance for major problems? Fortunately mine are relatively minor so far.
