Salem 36BHBS Advice

Hello,

I'm looking at purchasing the Salem 36BHBS trailer. The pricing is very nice on this unit. I am a little concerned that "you get what you pay for" and since this seems to be an affordable model, will I pay the price later? In other words, is the quality lacking on this model vs other options.
I am fine with more "basic" interior features and design, I just don't want overall construction and function to suffer. Thanks for your advice!

Is this a park model. The pictures I seen it is. I would say sometimes park models can be cheaper.

It is a Park Model or "Destination Trailer" model. One of the features of these types of trailers is that they come with a full size refridgerator. I'm not sure what else differentiates them. Perhaps the sliding glass door? Being a novice on rv's, I just don't know what to look for to find where quality is abundant or lacking. Here is what I know this one has:
- R7 Insulation (which I think is pretty standard)
- 30 Amp service
- 25,000 BTU Furnace
- 13,500 Air Cond

I will be using the unit in the winter, although will have all water systems shut down. (I have a heated outhouse on the property) I looked underneath this unit and it looks like it would be pretty easy to add some styrofoam board insulation to the flooring and then add a skirt.

On about a $20,000 budget, which is where this unit is, I am considering a used unit that might be better insulated etc?

Good luck keeping her warm, depending on where you live. I live in south dakota and those specs would not be good enough. You may get it done but not efficient at all.

Park models also have no holding tanks. Usually heavier. Build more like a moble home.
