Selling my class A Miranda 35LS

I want to sell my Class A 2014 Coachmen Miranda 35LS - where do I post, what are my options, where do I get the best price? I am looking to get a 5th wheel but I don’ t think that I want another Coachmen. Therefore, a trade in is out of the question. I want to sell this first. Inputs? Suggestions? Experience??

You can trade at any dealer, doesn't have to be a Coachman dealer. Live on a busy street ? put a sign out front. Craiglist, local paper, social media, Facebook...etc... RV trader on-line. Tons of options. Sold my old Jayco in week with just a sign by curb...busy street helped.

I've done both. Sold my '08 Roo 23SS on Craigskist for a couple more than I was asking and then traded my '14 Flagstaff 27BESS for my Sunseeker at the same dealer where I bought the trailer. Dealer was familiar with all maintenance on the trailer and gave me a good deal on the trade.

Thanks for the input. I’ll try Rv trader and craigslist first. I live in it, so I’ll have to offload my stuff to a storage unit

Jane, the instructions for the new Classified section on this site aren't very clear. Here are some tips I learned.

--Get to Classifieds by clicking "Classifieds" on the black "action bar" just below the Forest River Forums logo at the top left.
--Your classified will be shown to all viewers. It's not regional like Craigslist.
--You wll be asked to identify your city from a very limited list. Pick something near your location. When a Google map window is displayed, drag the map around until your real location is visible. Then click your real location.
--The rest (ad headlne, ad text, ad pictures) is pretty straightforward.

We are looking at a class A also. Please let me know your likes/dislikes for selling. It would really help us.

Thanks, Ron & Marianne

If you trade it in at the dealer, they will often let you have some space in the back to move your stuff from one unit to the other. I just did that. No storage fees!!

The downside is that you must tow a car or rent a vehicle when you get to your campsite.
The upside is that 1.5 bathrooms is great when you have guests, but I would now rather have a larger living area without the half bath. The shower is huge - love it. Cameras on sides & back make it easy to drive and maneuver. Downside is maintaining 2 motors, a vehicle and the RV. Downside is having 2 black tanks to empty because it has 2 toilets. Upside is it’s self-contained - with generator and 2 AC unit’s, fireplace and furnace make it comfortable. I have the L shape couch but think I would prefer easy chairs and smaller couch. The jackknife sofa is comfy.

Do the math. If you do a trade, you don't pay sales tax on the amount of the trade. For instance, buying a $10,000 item and getting a trade value of $5,000, you pay taxes on only $5,000. If you sell you rig privately and purchase from a dealer, you are paying tax on the full amount. However, if you can sell the camper for substantially more than a trade, the sales tax will be offset. Also, you may be able to deal better without a trade.

As far as selling privately, craigslist has been our go-to sales website. Do the research, write a very detailed ad and use 24 pictures. There is a lot more info that I have if you decide. Remember when righting an ad, you are acting as a dealer. The more info you can put out, the better chance of a sale.
