it's only available for towables and only for the original FR brands and Palominos.

all the other recent FR acquisitions do not qualify for it.(Shasta, Viking, Dynamax, Prime Time and Coachmen)
I brought this up to the Finance Guy and he said he wasn't aware of it. When we went in to finalize everything he said he had checked and I was right but, it is not offered for the Prime Time models

Yes. We bought it for our IKSS. Just download the form from the dollars and cents sections of this site and mail it to Forest River with your check. They will sign it and send you back a copy. They don't seem to hold to the 10 day period to purchase it, but don't wait - get it in.

The dealer gets no $ from this - it is a deal directly between you and FR, which is why many dealers make no effort to make buyers aware.

This older posting has a lot of good info, with phone numbers of who to call if you want to order it over the phone as I did. There is also a pdf file of the form if you want to mail it in with a check. I wouldn't worry too much about the 10 day ordering deal, I was past it and just explained that I wasn't aware of this program and that no one at my dealer ever told me about. She looked up my stuff on her computer and said no problem...
Here is the link with some good info...

http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...nty-47043.html

You might have to copy and paste it into your browser if it doesn't take you there directly.

Our dealer must be one of the good ones because they gave us the paperwork right up front for the 2nd year. There is a form that is filled out by your dealer that includes TT info and delivery date, ask them for it. If they don’t know what you are talking about, a copy of the form is floating around on the forum here somewhere, fill it out, have the dealer sign it, add check for $150 and mail it. It takes a while for FR to get it back to you, but they will get it back to you.

So I called dealer today and was told 2nd year warranty is a waste of money.
I was told it only covers manufactures defects and not if something brakes from wear and tear.
I was told I can cancel extended warranty within the first 30days. And tge money would just be applied to the loan.

the 2nd year warranty is the same as the original 1 year FR factory warranty.

not sure what this extended warranty says, but you really need to read all the fine print.
many find out that these 3rd party extended warranties don't cover the types of major things that RV suffer from. such as: delamination, roof leaks, frame issues and so on.

I canceled mine after 1 1/2 years and they gave me a prorated refund which is better than nothing. I canceled it because I found the same thing, that it doesn't cover much of anything. When I did use it because the furnace was not working, they fixed it, and they tried charging me. There was a broken wire and they tried saying that is considered an adjustment, and that is not covered, well hello a broken wire is not an adjustment. That is how they get around covering things, they just say it is an adjustment. Extended warranties IMO are a total waste of money.

Sounds like a weak excuse from a guy trying to save the sale of the warranty. Extended warranties are huge $$ makers for dealers. I guess you would have to read the fine print, but I don't ever recall seeing a warranty (other than some for cel phones called a "protection plan", not a warranty) that covers wear and tear. If your kid spills grape juice on the carpet or a mouse eats a hole in your canvas, is that extended warranty going to cover it? If yes, maybe its worth the extra cost.

Generally a warranty is just that - coverage against defects in material and workmanship, and usually if something wears out prematurely through "normal use" a warranty will cover it, but that is very subjective.

Glad I saw this before I go to pick up, I will make sure to ask specifically about the FR warranty, the dealership already sent me info on the warranty they offer and I was not interested at that price, but $150 for an extra year pays for itself if one thing goes wrong.

My dealer showed me a pamphlet on the FR second-year warranty, and it had a list of things that are covered the first year but not the second year.

Do you still have that pamphlet? Is it different than what the warranty form lists? The list on the form is pretty comprehensive.

I don't. This was about a year ago when I bought our latest camper. He just pointed out the list of exclusions for the second year, but I can't really remember any of them.

I just wanted to point out that what he showed me indicates the second-year warranty is not merely a continuation of the first-year coverage.

I bought a used unit late last fall and was not able to do a shake down to be under the 90 day warranty so I got the extended warranty. Just wanted to cover things I couldn't test, water heater, and AC, Fridge. Got it for peace of mind so when I open it up in spring and something doesn't work I'm covered.

All - I don't think the OP is talking about the extended 2nd year warranty for $150, which all agree is a waste of money.

I think the OP is talking about what I was also offerred...a 5 year warranty from USA Travel Care. It is offered in Platinum, Gold, and Silver options. It covers all the systems in the camper (water heater, fresh water, waste, AC, range, oven, gas, suspension, brakes, towing assistance, etc)

I was offered it on day one for $1,700, but was given a full year to decide. Waiting turned out to be a good thing...I just bought it and was given another 10% off. So for $1,530 (with 10% down, I got 18mos payment plan with 0% interest), I have full coverage for 5 years past the 1 year manufacturer warranty.

Or so the paperwork claims... I'm sure there's some fine print I missed, but at the time I figured this was a good deal.

Force you are right. I did buy the USA travel care platinum coverage.
I'm still trying to decide if its a good idea to keep it.
Not many people have had mechanical issues other than some stuff covered buy the first year warranty. $1700 is a good bit of money. I'm wondering if anybody has had to put more than 1700 in there roo in the first 5 years other than matinance.
Guess I'm just worried because this a big investment for us(the new camper)
And has a lot if power options, 2 slides, power awning, power tounge jack,ect..that could go bad.

Ok cool, glad we're on the same page.

I have only had mine 1 year, and have had no major problems, so my decision was based more on Murphy's Law than anything else.

I just figure $1,530 (10% down, $76/mos for 18 months, 0% interest) was a fair price for protecting a $20K camper.

EDIT: Suggest asking your dealer for that extra 10%. Happy to send you a PDF copy of my 10% reduction letter if you want, just private message me your email address.

i have never seen or heard of such a pamphlet. and i've been in the FR community since 2006.
my 2nd year warranty(which cost only $100 at that time)was no different than the first year warranty.
was tongue to bumper, just like the original 1st year warranty.
and i had a number things done under warranty that 2nd year.
